Make the Houston Flying Disc Society a permanent part of the National Disc Golf Center! Under this program, HFDS can have a permanent presence in the capital of our game, to recognize the support of our club for the sport. This would also be a continuing HFDS memorial to those members/friends of HFDS that have passed away.
We are looking to raise at least US$5,000.00; at least twenty (20) donations of US$250 each, or at least fifty (50) donations of at least US$100. This donation is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and can be claimed on your 2006 US tax return for next year through the Disc Golf Foundation.
If you are interested, please contact Dave Nesbitt or send HFDS check made out to the "Disc Golf Foundation - NDGC Fund" at the contact info listed here on the web. I will be gathering the funds from all, and will submit them to the PDGA/NDGC when we have met our goal! See the attached emails below for more details, or go to www.pdga.com/documents/NDGCendowment.pdf.
Per the NDGC Endowment Fund brochure developed by PDGA and DGF, a Gold level sponsorship of $5000+ will provide the following built-to-last top-of-the-line amenities: 2 tee pads, 1 or 2 tee signs, 1 park bench, footbridge if needed on hole, water station (every x holes), garbage can, paths, grooming/maintenance of hole. Recognition will include at least: club logo and name on tee sign(s), and customized metal plate on bench which could easily include the list of HFDS members passed (or some other means of memorial on the hole, we are open to ideas). If designed with the future in mind, updating the "in memory of" plate on the bench could be as simple as unscrew to remove for periodic engraving updates and rescrew in.
With time (3-4 yrs from now?) a master wall plaque inside the NDGC or monument/memorial on the grounds (per what pro sports teams do at their stadia) will be constructed to commemorate all NDGC donors (at the $100+ level probably). Here HFDS + logo would be listed as a gold sponsor and the individual club members who gave $100+ towards the HFDS contribution would also be listed at the levels reflecting their individual contributions . In addition, as each course is completed -the North/DGA course in summer/fall 06 will be first - the principal contributors to each course, including basket manufacturer, designer(s), and say $500+ donors will also be recognized on that course's welcome/entrance/information board. NDGC Fund donors are also being recognized in DGWN beginning next issue. Plus the individual donors would also get tax deductible receipts as long as we receive a spreadsheet breakdown of who contributed to HFDS' support.
