Day-of-Mini Series at Clear Lake

Join us on September 4th for the first of a series of disc golf minis at the old Clear Lake Golf Course in Clear Lake. We are going to be setting up baskets and tees once a month on different sections of the old ball golf course for disc golf minis. Each month the mini will feature a new design created by disc golfers in the area with a minimum of 18 holes. Our goal is to raise funds for the new League City disc golf course.

Check-in will run from 3:00 to 3:30 and the round will start at 3:45. We will have at least 18 holes to play and hope to have some really fun and creative courses in store.

Entry to the mini will be $15 with $10 going to payout and $5 to the basket fund for League City. If you have a basket you can lend please let us know. Help support disc golf on the Southside!

EDIT: See this link for course location and directions: http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=4382

Just a bump here to remind everybody on the South Side (and anybody else who wants to travel down to Clear Lake) that Chris will be starting up the first Day-Of-Course Mini Series installment this Sunday, September 4th at 2:30 PM at the old Clear Lake Golf Course which is located on Reseda near the intersection of Diana Lane....just NE of Bay Area Blvd. & El Camino Real. The easiest way to get there if you've never been is to take 45 South to Bay Area & head east...you'll cross Hwy. 3, a couple of lights up will be El Camino Real...go through that light & the next light will be Diana Lane...take a left & go down to the 2nd stop sign, which is Reseda...take a right & you'll see us there in the parking lot! Registration will be $15 with $5 going towards the basket fund (specifically for the planned 9-hole course in Magnolia Creek Park in League City) and the rest going to payout...one extra buck optional for ace pot! Most likely set-up this time will be nine baskets...play it forwards & then come backwards a la Erickson/Payne course! If you can bring a basket contact Chris or myself on the Birdshot website or on Birdshot's Facebook page....hope to see a lot of people come out!

SORRY ABOUT THAT, CHIEF! Make that 3:30 instead of 2:30...I tried to go in & edit but the pooter wouldn't let me! If you're bringing a basket you might want to show up around 2:30 though....but sign-ups won't start until between 3:00 & 3:30! :D

Re: Day-of-Mini Series

I just got back from walking the course area we'll be using. Based on my GPS data the course is going to be about 6500' long with the longest clocking in around 500' and the shortest at about 260'. There are at least three holes that offer ace runs, I think. The course will play on the same section of the old ball golf course as the first two Day-of-Course events, but we're going to have a modified layout.

If you can bring a basket, please email me and let me know. My email is Chris(at)MacGregor.net. Hope to see everyone out there on Sunday for a fun round on a temp course!

So far we've got 2 Chainstars, courtesy of HFDS.
1 more Chainstar
3 DB-5s
2 Disc Catcher Sports
1 more from MrBrady - didn't catch the brand.
And yours Griff.

I'd like to have at least one more basket for the course. Right now it'll be either Billy's Traveler or my InStep. Someone's got to have a some good chains they can bring out. The course in mind can use up to 15 baskets.
