Kingwood Update

Just talked to the Kingwood Association, and the park is still not open. They are now saying maybe the end of July, but they aren't even sure of that right now.

Just wondering if this tournament may have to be postponed?

Phil, I already posted on the in-town tourney site that we will have to cancel King Me At Kingwood II....they're apparently not just fixing the sinkhole, I believe they're redoing the whole road back there (probably before there's another sinkhole!). We are waiting on word from Randon about having a the August tourney at the Snow Farm up near Brenham.

I would love for it to be moved to Jack Brooks #2. Its similar to Kingwood, and half the course is in the shade.

Jack Brooks both courses is a possibility or a nonsanctioned fun tournament somewhere. Get back with you soon.

Seems like alot of people who live on the northside never get to play Brooks, or just haven't made the trip. Maybe this could be a special invitation to invite some of the northside to come play the new course at Brooks.

Birdshot will hopefully make a decision on that this Saturday at Klein...we'll let you all know ASAP!

Recieved a call from KSA today. The road has been re-opened to the park. YEAAA!! BUT, they have not been able to address the park maintenance yet so please be careful if you plan to play out there. Park and course maintenance are pending as the KSA association contractor who take care of the park have not been able to get in there since the road collapsed. More updates as they progress. If any of you local Kingwood players are able to get additional information, please post. :)

And, of course, we've already moved the tournament elsewhere!:p

Maybe we can play a day where everyone just shows up and we play for fun.

The tree that was blocking the #4 tee box was removed today. I will be out there tomorrow afternoon with a group, and I will report what I find. I have had reports that we have no spiders this year. I guess the lack of rain has kept them away.
