The Sheriff of Nottingham II/Birdshot Mini 09/26/2009

After two great golf weekends in September (Spring Valley on the 12th & Eberly on the 19th), please join us for our second Nottingham Mini on the 26th. Details at www.houstonbirdshot.com regarding start times, etc. Deputy Sheriff Jack Camp will be there to keep order....because remember in the song...."I shot the sheriff, but I did not shoot the deputy"! That's why Jack is happy to be the deputy. Anyway...come & shoot some disc golf with us at this very nice 12 hole course on the west side. We had a pretty large turnout for this one last time...don't be left out!

I wish I'd checked this post earlier. On the mini page it says that the tournament is Sept 19th, but I can tell you that there was actually a cross-country race there this morning. Now I see on the front page it says the 26th as well as here. :(

It probably woulda been hard to play disc golf on the disc golf course if there were a buncha high school kids running all over it. :(

For those of us with limited time, here's the info from the website:

Mini tournaments are geared towards the beginner that wants a quick, low cost tournament to get some tournament experience. We encourage some experienced players to enter to mix with the beginners on a card and teach them the basic rules and etiquette of disc golf tournaments.

  1. The mini tournaments will be non-PDGA sanctioned.
  2. They will be two rounds of 9 baskets (except Nottingham Park - 12)
  3. They will start in the morning: 8:00 - 8:45 Sign Up, 8:45 - 9:00 Clinic if needed 9:15 Tee off, and finish by lunch.
  4. They will be cash payout for all divisions.
  5. The payout will be through the top 50% of the Am divisions. For Pro division it will be 40%, 45%, or 50% (TDs discretion).
  6. The payout will be calculated using the PDGA payout calculator spreadsheet. 85% of the entry fees will be paid out. Deductions - 10% Management Fees, 5% Course Maintenance fees and also expenses will be deducted.
  7. If the course being played is in major need of maintenance, 20% of entry fee may be deducted for course maintenance and management fee will not be deducted. This will be established before the mini begins on the tournament flyer on the website and the maintenance to be done will be discussed.
  8. The entry fees will be approximately 1/2 the amount of our two round tournaments Novice and Rec - $5 Int and Adv - $10 Other Pro - $15 Pro Open - $20

I know all of that, I went to the mini page. My point is/was that on the mini page it said 9/19. Now it's been corrected to say 9/26.

Sorry about that! Apparently Chuck went in & changed it after you pointed it out. So did you go out there to play & we weren't there? If so, we're especially sorry about that. Hope you can make it Saturday!

Yea, I was there. Don't worry about it though. I think I was the only one. I can't make this Saturday, it's my son's first soccer game.
