Northside Handicap Mini every Tuesday - Rotating Courses

Northside Handicap Mini every Tuesday - Rotating Northside Courses

First event: Tuesday 3/22, tee time is 5:30 PM*
Course: Windwood Presbyterian Church DGC
Ace pot: To Be Determined

*Tee time will push back as days get longer

First week of the 2011 regular season...
Entry fee $7; includes $1 Ace Pot, $1 to a Projects and Events Fund**, and $5 goes back to the weekly payout. Weekly payout will be top 45% of finishers.

**The Projects and Events Fund will help to support course development projects and area tournaments including Texas States. We want some flexibility with this fund to help in other areas besides being designated to only one event.

We are emulating the successful Southwest Handicap Mini to give the Northside players an opportunity to participate in a unique format that awards players for improving their own skill. More details will be rolled out in the coming weeks. Series points will be earned leading to a Final at the end of the season.

Below is the first series of locations for the Northside Handicap Minis for March/April:

March 22 Windwood
March 29 Northside Christian
April 5 Spring Valley (Additional Activities Pending-TBA)
April 12 Terramont/Bear Branch (To Be Determined)
April 19 Plantation
April 26 McDade

For the Northside Handicap Mini realistic handicaps are based on your PDGA rating (if you have one) and your recent performance on NS (Northside) courses with specific emphasis on the course being played that week. If you don't already have a PDGA rating, there are provisions in place to establish one for the series so don't let that keep you from attending!!

Also, several other effects are factored into the handicap such as the level of course difficulty. More details will be forthcoming as we get this new event underway. So for the moment, come out and play and get some scores recorded.

A few more Northside Handicap Mini Series event details:

First event: Tuesday 3/22, tee time is 5:30 PM*
Course: Windwood Presbyterian Church DGC
Ace pot: To Be Determined
*Tee time will push back as days get longer

Hope to see you out at Windwood on 3/22!!

Re: Northside Handicap Mini every Tuesday - Rotating Courses

Just to update on the Northside Handicap Mini...we haven't figured out how to calculate the handicaps and are too busy to take it on right now. For the time being we will be moving through the rotation and playing minis until someone has the time to get the handicap system up and running.

We did have a good turnout at Windwood of 23 players. We played 3 divisions with 5 playing Pro, 15 playing Am and 3 allowed to play a Novice division (first timers and an injured regular). Everyone was fine with going the mini route until the handicap system can be implemented.

Next Tuesday is at Northside Christian. Traveling ace pot stands at $23.00 and the special events/course maintenance fund stands at $23.00.

Hope to see you at Northside Christian on 3/29. And, if you'd like to help out with the northside Tuesday event, let us know! We're looking for some support help to run this. :o

Yeah I'm very sorry Andi.. I started tearing down and rebuilding my fence last week and OMG I had no idea how much work it turned into being... I'm still only half finished and I have to get this done so my dog can get outside without being leashed up constantly... Big thanks to Doug for offering to host last Tuesday....
