Default Re: Course Conditions

Thanks Lou for the kind words. Everything you said about Bass is unfortunately true. Every year I keep in touch with them about mowing Wilmont and I get a lot of excuses but the fact of the matter is they don’t have either the resources or desire (a little of both) to maintain that area of the park. I believe there is a fine line I have to walk between asking them to mow out there and becoming a broken record (or broken CD for the younger crowd) that they don’t listen to anymore. Here is a little background on Bass. For the past 5 years I have been dealing with Craig Campbell and he is very sympathetic to our needs but as Lou said he is not the final word. On top of that about 3 years ago he was given the responsibility of another park off of 59 on top of Adair Park across Cullen. He spent a lot of time out there the first year so Tom Bass didn’t get the attention it got before. Last year he was promoted and I now deal with James Denkins. So far he is working with me on HFDS matters at the park. Also about 3 years ago their boss Paul Mauricio started to be more involved in park events. For the past two years Paul has requested a copy of the entire Texas State course layout for him to approve. As a matter of fact if someone could send that to me I need to present it to Paul for his approval this year. He was the one who scrapped the Dragon hole. I am still working on him on this one. Believe me, HFDS and I are doing everything we can to keep these courses at Tom Bass as playable as possible. It is as frustrating to us as it is to all of you. The solutions are very complicated and time consuming. My hope is that one day things changes for the better but until then keep the suggestions coming and we will keep up the good fight for all Disc Golfers in Houston.
