Yeah, I boarded up a neighbor's house as a favor to him during the storm. It turned out he is a sitting member of the WCA (Woodlands Community Assoc.) He and I had a very interesting and frank discussion about disc golf in The Woodlands.
I got done with his house, he offered me some cash and I refused it. Then he told me not to worry about Parks and Rec, and that if I wanted help, he'll be glad to help. So I made that phone call today, and he's taking care of it. While we will not close the park (not our objective), we will be able to meet out there. I'm taking a run at Woodlands Parks and Rec next week. Alex Hughes made them aware of the club's existance and mission and they sounded like they were open to suggestion. Again, you get more flies with honey than vinager. We come bearing donations.... the word no goes away pretty fast. What do we want? No hassle or unreasonable requirements to have access to the parks for our cause. Pretty simple proposal. With 10 am, there is only 1 soccer field at Terramont. NOT BEAR BRANCH, which has a tournament scheduled for its fields, hence why we're not playing there. (YET) Give me time, growing up in this SNOBSVILLE has taught me about what these people care about, Are you from here, and are you willing to volunteer to do what you want. I can answer yes to both.
