Default DDC on Wednesday nights!!!

Double Disc Court (DDC) is being played every week on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Independence Park near Gessner and Tanner roads.

The cost is free!!!

For those that are unfamiliar with DDC, the sport is very much like a game of tennis doubles. Basically, each team begins with one disc, and both throw their discs into the opposite court on the serve. There-after, the goal is to try to "trap" the other team when both of their players are touching a disc at the same time. (Sounds easy, right? Ha! )

It is a very fast-paced, action game that is both a lot of fun to play as well as being great exercise.

Here is a Bing map with the location of the park. I found it very easy to get there.

If you want any further information about it, please feel free to shoot me an e-mail or PM.

Hope all of you can come on out to check it out and see for yourself how much fun it is to play and watch. Don't be worried about not knowing anything about the game, it can be explained easiest when watching a game and seeing the strategies used to try and "Double" the opponents! When you are ready, you'll go into the rotation and be playing your very first DDC match on that very night!

Just a reminder to everyone that DDC will be played again tonight from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Independence Park which is just a mile or so from Moffitt Park and the Beltway.

All equipment is provided, and the cost is free. Hope to see some of you folks out there tonight.

Wednesday nights is DDC night!!! 5:30 - 7:30pm at Independence Park just off from Beltway 8 and Tanner Rd.

A few of you have wondered "What is DDC?"

It is a Frisbee game, sort-of like doubles in tennis. Teams each have to guard a 40 foot square court. The two courts are about 40 feet apart. The object is to toss a frisbee into the other teams court. If they catch your throw, no point is scored. If they miss your throw, then you score a point. If you throw the Frisbee and it doesn't land in the other teams court, then your opponents get a point. Sounds easy, doesn't it? Ha-ha! (It's only a square 40 feet and there are two of you to "protect" it, how hard can that be?) Yeah - right! Play to eleven points...ought to be over with quick, right? Heh-heh-heh... Hope to see ya out there.

We sure could use a couple more players for tonight's DDC match!

Stimpy is out with a knee injury, Conrad is working late and may not make it, Nez is out, and we haven't heard from Marcus or Richard Ahlgrim yet.

We need 4 people to play, so if you've been thinking about coming out to check it out, then tonight is THE night!!! We need you!

We'll be playing at Indepence Park near Tanner Road and Gessner from 5:30 until 7:30 pm. We sure hope to see you out there tonight!
