Feb 4-5th. It's approved by the state coordinator and in the process of being sanctioned. Please consider volunteering if you are not of the correct age or enrollment bracket. Saturday will be at Mozola and Sunday will finish at Jester with a morning round and hopefully be done at noon. More details to follow, but plan for coming and hanging out Saturday night for the Plastic Fantastic swap meet!

Probably an XB tier. Not sure. Players pack will be around the a tier level, but players and sanctioning fees are alot higher for an a-tier.

Foreword:
Thank you for being a part of the Texas State High School Championships. By looking at this site you have helped in even a small way with this tournament. My goal is to help nurture the competition for this age group so that they have a chance to compete against other kids their age for more than just once a year at worlds. We all love this sport and the kids are going to carry it forward long after we are gone. Format: We will have a singles and a team winner crowned at the end of the weekend. Singles: This will consist of 2 rounds at Mozola Memorial Course on Saturday February 4th. Team element: each team must have at least two players compete in Saturday and Sunday's rounds. (Teams can be larger than two but need to be in multiples of two please) The top two singles scores from each round will count towards the teams overall score. That will be added to the top team score from Sunday's round to award an overall team winner. (Any team with more than two competitors will have the best scores used toward the teams score) Eligibility to play: So that we are compliant with the PDGA tour standards this will be an FJ1 divisional event. ( this allows us to not have to charge a non pdga membership fee). Also, you must be currently enrolled in a Tx based high school or home school program. For the team element: Your team can be comprised of students from a singular school, or if you can't come up with two students from the same school, then the team can represent a Disc Golf Club. (this covers home schoolers). Please bring teams with multiples of two so that everyone gets to play on Sunday that wishes to. Saturday night we will have a special treat for everyone. Plastic Fantastic will be a chance for the kids to buy/sell/TRADE! discs with friends and vendors. We will also hopefully have dinner and some other cool stuff like a putting competition for the kids at this event. Vendors please contact me * about table availability.

Patrick, Just to be clear...
A player can play Saturday only for the singles event, correct? I know of one guy that would likely be interested. Not sure there is another highschooler around here that would be interested in tourney play for him to form a team with. Let me know so I can pass the word along to him. Thanks. |

On your first question, yes they can play Saturday only for singles. There will be no cost difference just to make it easy. Thanks for your interest and please ask all the questions you can think of. It will help me remember to post all the info.
