I made it out today to survey the damage to some of the north side courses. Spring Valley's water is all the way up to the golfer's tee box on power 1. The tree with the bench under it on power 9 has fallen onto the green of 9. A tree fell onto the cart barn, but the pro shop is untouched. Water is indeed starting to receed there as the level marks indicate that the water was a good 5 feet further up than where it was today. As soon as power is back up, I will be able to download some pics. Impressive, but I think that by the looks of the place it will be playable again once the water goes down.
I hope everybody is safe and sound. |

As promised, the power is back up at home, so here are some pics. These are taken from the top of Power 1 and the basket area for Power 9.

Thanks muchly for the pix Matt! So what do you think? Will we be playing the Commando Mini out there on Sunday morning or not? Has the water completely receded now? L |

We played Jester league last night and had 4 guests out there with us. Everyone was wanting to know if I'd be running the Commando on Sunday morning. Please remember: The start time of the Commando has changed to 10:00 am now!!!

Larry,
I'll go out and survey the situation at the Valley. If in fact it is unplayable, then lets change the venue until we can get back to home. I'd say let's crash Bear Branch for a Sunday and do it old school commando style. That course is in fact playable now, and would be an easy, not too much farther than the valley course. Let me know what you think. Either way, you know I'll be there, and I'll spread the word to the Chain Gangers in either event. |

ty Matt!
I like your alternative plan. I can probably get to Bear Branch quicker than I can to SV so it sounds like a good alternative if SV is unplayable. Let me know! |
