Default Oak Meadow

Why is the Oak Meadows section blocked? Is this some stick it to the man sort of thing? Just wondering because I still like to keep on on things on all courses in my area, even if their "private."

If there is already a thread about this - sorry!

As I understand it after the Taylor Lakes Village craziness, any forums about private courses were turned off. This included Oak Meadow.

Larry and I have disagreed on this topic in the past and you can read those long, boring discussions in other threads.

But in nutshell: Larry (the site admin) has chosen to censor the Oak Meadow forum to obscure information about how non-residents might play the private course, because they could possibly get destructive and arrested, and the Bridgeland HOA possibly hold HFDS liable for their actions.

Based on what Larry posted previously the recommendation is that if "You want to have discussions about negotiating to be able to play out there, then that is a different topic and would belong under the Club Issues thread."

Other topics like discs Lost & Found at Oak Meadow should go in the General Course Info forum. Events held at Oak Meadow should go in the In Town Tournaments forum.

My stance is that I find it disorganized to have posts all related to one course scattered all over the message board rather than conveniently confined in one dedicated forum. But oh well.

hrmmm...

Well I don't necessarily agree with it, but thanks for letting me know.

I think it is fine to have it blocked off. While most of us can use discretion on the boards, we are constantly reminded that there are some who just don't understand the word tact.
