Birdshot did some maintenance today. Me and my wife Marty went out there today and put in a tee marker wood post for #3 and #12. I backed #3 up some to avoid the teebox pit. I left #12 where its at. I still need to put a hole number on 12 and basket distance on #3. I hope you like the color, it is Krona Brown.

Does anyone know who did the pruning of Yaupon on hole 18 of the Gulf Meadows Course? It was done a little heavy handed. We appreciate the effort, but just a little heavy. Let me know next time you're out and I'll show you proper technique.
Thanks... Jake |

Chuck & I went out to the course this morning to play a round & put in more tee stakes with the hole numbers & distances on them (a few of them that were put in months ago have disappeared!). These are just temporary of course until they get the permanent tee posts in...hopefully that will happen sometime soon!

![]() But where are these idiots when the designer is present. NOT COOl. ![]() If you don't like the line, talk with Jake and I am sure he will change it or explain why it is the way it is. Don't go out on your own and start cutting, you will just screw up the course as designed. Don't be an idiot, Jake has done too much for you to mess it up. If you did the pruning, man up and admit it. I don't think so.

Hey...all we did was put in some wooden stakes!
I think it's funny that you waited until I posted this today to comment on another post that was made back in November...it sounds like you're trying to convict us of some kind of crime! Maybe you didn't read that old post until today, I don't know...but it sure seems like you're calling a couple of us idiots (that would be me & Chuck!). Not cool, Lou, if that's what you were up to! You know, we were out at Moffitt yesterday afternoon working on boxes for over three hours...trying to help get ready for Ice Bowl. Part of what we have always tried to do (and it's part of our mission statement) is to try to get around & help maintain courses....some of that maintenance has involved trimming. When tree branches start hanging down between your putt & the basket when they were not there when the course was originally designed, it's time for a little trimming. Now, it wasn't me that trimmed that yaupon mentioned in the post....but to seemingly put the blame on Birdshot...especially after I posted what we did out there today...just seems like you're gunning for us!

where is this tree located on 18? That is such a great finishing hole and to hit the line is a great feeling. This hole rewarded greatness and punished all mediocre throws. Has the hole been opened up with the trimming of said Yaupon tree?

I hope not... The yaupon I commented on was on the side of the hill approaching the creek of 18. Heavy handed but did not kill the obstacle. So, no worries...
