ive flat out stopped them on hole 2 and made them put their bag down and go sign in.... The rule is there for a very good reason....not losing a course over someone thinking it doesn't apply to them

this might be so, but it took an entire two minutes go in and greet some nice people and get a course map! I would rather be respectful and sign my name in and pick up a map so I know where to go. I don't want to be responsible for any trouble out there.

I don't have a problem signing in whenever, but I'll admit that I have never signed in on the weekends because it's not required. I don't think anyone is trying to be rude, they just know they need to sign in only on weekdays.
