PA player new to Houston!

Hi guys,

I'm new to the area, and I used to play up north in PA (go Penn State!). Basically, I haven't played in a while (first disadvantage) and don't know the courses around here (second disadvantage). The worst of it all is that I have off on Tues afternoon/evenings and Weds/Thurs, so playing during normal weekend hours is un-do'able.

If anyone has some favorite courses around here for mediocre skills, I'd love to have some input (I'm a fan of DISCatcher courses)! Also, I don't know how many people have free days in the middle of the week, but I'd like to play with small groups if there are any.

Awesome welcome to houston! There are a ton of good quality courses in houston. There are leagues that run throught the week and minis held pretty frequently which really do premiere the top courses in the area. Welcome to TX its soooo much better here than PA.

Not knowing what part of town you hang out in, my suggestion would be Agnes Moffitt. Very easy, always good traffic and easiest for weekday adventures.

Hi, Candace! Hope you're not too freaked out by all the drama that sometimes runs rapant on this board! If you've read some of these threads & checked out the calendar, I'm sure you've noticed that Birdshot runs a regular series of one PDGA sanctioned event per month (we do have a double-header planned later this year)...and a series of non-sanctioned minis at various mostly nine-hole courses all over the area each month as well. Please feel free to come out & play....if not at the sanctioned tourneys, then at least the minis. They're pretty laid back & fairly cheap! Check out our website......www.houstonbirdshot.com!
