Give me a day and time you want to do the prep work (assuming we're talking something other than the 20th) and I'll let you know.

we should have good weather on Saturday, we'll get a plan together and David I'll post a schedule. We may have to close the course for a few days prior to the 20th, so all the prep work isn't ruined by people playing and stepping all in the prepped boxes.

Bingo! might make some temps for those that don't follow instruction?

As of now Feb. 20th seems as open as it's going to get to set a concrete box pour date. We can start picking up Pre-mixed, agitating and ready to pour concrete at 0730 in the morning.
I'm going to step out on a limb and say we have enough sponsorship committments and money being raised at the weekly minis to pour as many concrete T-boxes as can be poured in a day. We could have a complete course poured if you show up.. weather permitting

There will always be something else going on and we have no control of that. Windwood is a great course, trying to be greater, it's being built by disc golfers, for disc golfers. If your a disc golfer we are asking you to set aside a day Feb. 20th and take a leadership stance. Whatever you can do that day will make a difference. There will be enough work to go around that day that we need everyone. If your reading this then we need you.

1. We need trucks that are eqiupped with a 2inch ball to haul the trailers of pre-mixed concrete from Tomball Rentals to the church.

2. We need golfers with wheelbarrows at the church to get the concrete from the closest point we can pull the trailer up to, to the box.

3. We need golfers to tamp and broom the box once poured.

4. We need golfers to spray out the trailers after the box is poured.

5. And we need to repeat this cycle until the course is poured.

We can have multiple trailers running and the concrete gets cheaper after the first load. After the first load we are looking at just over $100.00 per box for the cost of the concrete. Tomball rentals is only a few miles from the church. If we can get a turnout anywhere near the number of golfers who will show up to play a tournament.....We'll have a course poured..

It's early enough to put this date on your calendar at home and start rounding up whoever and whatever you can get your hands on to help.

We welcome the various local disc golf organizations, societies and clubs to join us in leading the way... It's not someone elses job to build us great courses to play. It's "Our" job.

Again we know there will be something else going on that day, there always will.. It's a personal choice. I'm asking for your help. Please post if you can for sure, no doubt, be counted on to be there.. If you lead the way, maybe you can inspire another golfer to do the same.
Ok golfers, here we go.... Looks like we'll have good weather Weds-Thurs evenings this week.... Showing rain on Friday and sunny sky's and 65 degrees for Saturday.... Weds. and Thurs. evenings we'll start our prep work. We have aquired all the lumber we'll need, but it's time to build the forms. Not sure if SRM520 is still available to build forms this week I understand he just had a baby (congrats man!!) Steve please post if your available.... So if you have saws, nails, hammers bring them. We need to prep the ground as well... digging in a couple inches the size of the box, leveling the ground, cutting out any roots in the way..whatever it takes to be ready... So bring shovels, hoes, axes, hatchets...please whatever you've got. Once we have a box ready we'll caution tape it off to keep anyone out of it... We have commitments from several who will be there with big trucks and they're not afraid to use them on Saturday morning.

We need allot of people to get allot of work done. A truck will pull in, dump it's load, we'll need a couple of people at the box spreading and sweeping, when the truck pulls away we'll need a station set up to spray out the trailer.. we need people for that. We're going to meed people working 1 and 2 boxes ahead of the trucks, making sure they are ready. We are going to need some wheelbarrows, we can get the trucks close, but we'll have to haul some conrete by wheelbarrow, we need allot of people for this.

This is a DISC GOLF COMMUNITY effort, and I believe with the state of the economy and not much light coming from the end of the tunnel. The only way we'll see new courses built, will be if the DG community builds them. You are the community, I am the community. We need the community to come together and help make these things happen. We'll get done what we have the people power to do.

I am hopeful, and I look forward to seeing many new faces this week and week end. I know you have a choice.. and I thank those of you who will choose to come out and help us complete a very good course...

Thank you.

Weds-Thurs. evenings prep work, form building and ground prep
Sat. morning 7am... We start sending the trucks and pouring boxes.

DGC/Spring Vally Pro Shop is in the house. Don and I are planning to be there with tools in hand as much as possible. On Saturday we have some dg prizes for a couple of CTP's after the work is done. Come out and support the course. Scott's grassroots work with Windwood and Doug Rogers is exactly how organized disc golf began in H-town many years ago. We applaud their efforts!

I'm should be there Thursday night, Wednesday maybe (depends on babysitter), and Saturday morning (with a break from 10-11 for my son's soccer game). I'm bringing a wheelbarrow and whatever tools I can find. See you then!!

It's true, we were just blessed with another baby girl, so life is good no matter how sleepy I am. I am working on my schedule right now to make sure I can work at least one but hopefully both Wednesday and Thursday evenings, as well on Saturday, but unfortunately I can't do the full day on Saturday. Scott, do you have any specific times for Weds and Thurs to do the prep work - my wife is a loving person, but she wants times. I'll bring all the tools I have.
