The PM didn't go to everyone, so unless users report spam PM's the moderators might not know about them.

The version of vBulletin that HFDS is running is several revs behind and has some known vulnerabilities. Only Larry has the power to get this updated.

Hmmm...sorry if anyone else experienced/noticed any outage of the MB here today as I upgraded to the latest release that I can. I guess I'll do some homework and see if the newest version 4.0 of this stuff adds anything worthwhile or not.

It looks like it upgraded from 3.8.0 to 3.8.1 and then 3.8.2 and finally 3.8.3. It is showing that 3.8.4.2 is the most current, but they are only allowing me to download to the 3.8.3 version.

Let me know if anyone sees any problems or issues with any of it. I can't tell that anything looks different.

I'm still offline at home. Tried to fix it the other day by opening another user, which I was able to at least surf the net a bit, but it started the same BS!

Same "rules" apply to PM's as e-mail spam you receive. Don't click on links from people you don't know.

That's funny. H3ll, I don't know HALF the people on here with all these ALLYASSES. Met CHADMAN at ICE BOWL and was like, OH YEAH....I've read some of your stuff.

Maybe better patrolling of this site or software to keep them out is the key. There is other types of moderating going on here. Why not EXTERNAL modding too? Bet Matchu doesn't have a virus.

I do some work on the side removing viruses & spyware. Also I can do optimization, formatting, upgrades and downgrades (vista to xp, windows 7 to xp) flat fee. anyone interested send me a pm

On this forum the present known SPAMMER ban count is 347 IP addresses and ranges, and 279 email addresses and domains. Each one entered manually by myself. About two out of every three new users registering for this forum are SPAMMERs. No system is foolproof and occasionally one is going to slip through. Sorry.

I recently made the decision to remove the board on the TLVDGC.org website because of spam. That board was getting literally hundreds of spam messages a day, many of which included graphic pornography. I spent hours a week banning IP addresses and deleting accounts and finally just removed the boards.

ERic, I am amazed at how clean this board is of spam. You really deserve a lot of thanks from all of us for your effort on board spam. It was too much for me to keep up with on my site, so hats off to you.
