Sure Jay - well...at least as long as your son isn't a Matt Hall or something!
Matt Stillwagon has paid his son's entry and played with him as a partner a couple of times now. I think we can do that!

This will be the last weekend for the 2009-2010 Commando Mini.
I'm hoping to get a couple other folks to help me run it again for next year. Thomas Burks has expressed his willingness to pitch in, is there anyone else that wants to help spread the load around with us some? It would be ideal if we could get a separate person for each weekend of the month - that way we all get to have some whole weekends off once in a while. Think about it and let me or Thomas know if you are interested. I hope to see all of the usual suspects out there this Sunday for our final run of the Commando! Larry

Is this going to be the last weekend to be able to contribute to this year's States or the last weekend period? I know I don't come out as often as I'd like to....but I'd hate to think you're shutting it down for a while!

I'm looking for some volunteers to help me swap "duties" for the next year. My wife is getting a little "testy" about the prospects of me starting a 4th year of having an obligation every single weekend. I'm thinking that if we can get one volunteer to take each weekend of a month, we'd probably only need to have 4 of us that could rotate MD duties around. I'm open to suggestions though. The Commando Mini contribution to Texas States is probably going to end up being in the $1,400 range, but we'll be starting out with an inventory of 25 TSDGC stamped Rocs too. I think we'll be charging $8-10 for them since they are fund-raiser discs that only the Commando should have. If we can sell any of them next weekend (if I get them in time) then we might be able to hit the $1,500 mark. Maybe that'll be enough to push us to that $5,750 mark. Larry

Yeeeee - Haaaaaaaa!
Don't be afraid of a little breeze tomorrow! Come on out and test your mettle on a breezy morning! (But please DO dress warm!) I also want to let everyone know that I will have Texas States tournament stamped Rocs available for sale at the Commando tomorrow. $10 and all proceeds will be going to States. I know that I will be snapping up 2 or 3 for myself, Stimpy wants 3 so we are already down to 19 more available. Let me know if you can't make the Commando tomorrow but you want me to hold one for you. We still have this last chance to up our sponsorship to Texas States. You Commandos R O C K ! ! !

The Commando Mini will be beginning it's 4th season next weekend, April 4th, 2010.
We are still going to continue running the mini as a fundraiser, however it likely not be for Texas States any more. If anyone has some ideas about whom might benefit from these efforts, then please come talk to me. See you out there!!!

Yes, it was Commando-Doubles week at Spring Valley!
And what a lovely day it was!!! Wow!!! We sure don't get many days as fine as this morning was! I voted for more of 'em, but my candidate got beat. I have to brag about our card this morning. We had six teams, and so we played as 2 cards of 3 teams each. All 3 teams on my card went bogey-free for the round! Matt and Chase shot -10, Thomas and I shot -7 and TJ and Mr. Ed shot -5 and all of us were bogey-free! Both Matt/Chase and Thomas/Larry each had a run of 5 twos in a row! One of the best disc golf days (and rounds) I've had! Our card was tough and tight from the very first hole - and it stayed that way throughout the whole round. Thanks to all of my card-mates for making it such a fun round!
