I know nobody won't care but, I like to drink WHILE I play. Doug said it's not the biggest concer that they have. If that's going to be a problem than I won't even play there no more so I won't be one of those people that get the course taken out. So I hope everyone has fun out there but I'm just going to pay my 2 dollars at SV and play there or The Branch from now on. I just don't want to be one of the people that people complain about so the simple way for ME to fix it is not to play there at all.

![]() Also, is this your excuse to not play Windwood because it's not sidearm friendly?

Chad - I agree 100%. I have a bulletin board designed and ready to be built. All it takes is $. It is one of my top priorities.

Come on buddy. It's not an excuse, it's a reason. You take away my beer, you take away my game. Or something like that. Besides, there's only 4 or so holes that I have to back hand. |

Hey Doug I have a new sheet of plywood (quality) and three 12' 2x4's to donate to the Bulletin board project, let me know how I can help.
Like Chad said, I also meet many many people playing that have no idea what HFDS is, or any knowledge of Birdshot, their mini's and tourney's, no idea we ran minis at WW to raise money, no clue about this message board....nothing I believe if each course had quality bulletin boards, that were kept up with current information, you'd see a lot more participation not only here, but in Birdshot tourney's, club meetings, course work days, course initiatives and so on. To further that thought, If my company was turning a profit based on tourney turn out, I would be pushing hard to put a bulletin board on every course and keeping the info very current. I know when I'm out of town playing a new course, the first thing I check out is the course bulletin board to see what's going on in the area. One glance and you get a good indication of how active the DG community is in the area. Last edited by tarazarr; 05-11-2010 at 07:18 AM. |

From Doug's post, I gather that the complaint deals with the parking lot and the walk from/to the parking lot to/from the course and drinking/being seen drinking. Is this correct? I for one would hate for a po-po to drive by and see someone chug-a-luging. All they would have to do is wait for them to leave.
Or shall we all follow Boss' remedy of playing elsewhere? I have no problem with waiting until I get on the course, but I too like a fcb while I play. |

I think Dougs post was pretty clear.... Discretion isn't being used out there and it's been brought to his attention by those whose first responsibility is to the members of the church.
To illustrate this point, I was at the church one afternoon with my son playing on the childrens playground. I looked up as a husband and wife were walking right along side the church building headed back to their car after a round, both drinking beer in bottles (it was obvious) because they were carrying what was left of the 12 pack not even in a cooler AND with 2 children in tow!!! Now that goes much deeper than drinking a cold beer while playing, but never the less, had I been a church member, who didn't play DG, you can bet I would have set an appointment to bend the pastors ear big time. So Joe, let's not get into symmantics here of "exactly" where can I drink on the course and where can I not drink on the course. Like Mr. Ed said. For this to even have to be addressed, the flag is BIG and it's a RED ONE. How much clearer does it really need to be put? Windwood owns the property, they have been overly gracious to the DG community by even allowing us the use of the property for a course. Not to even mention the fact that they have come out in force every time we've held a work day to cook for us and feed us for free. They have a few rules for the use of this property. If we (the disc golf players) can't repspect those rules, they will simply pull the baskets and be done with it. So I would say this, if your disc golf outing must include alcohol, then maybe choosing a different course, where drinking alcohol while playing is ok, might be a better choice for the entire DG community. It's really very simple Last edited by tarazarr; 05-11-2010 at 08:46 AM. |

YOU DON'T PLAY THERE NOW joE I attend the church, and have invested many hours in the course. This course has given me the opportunity to re-learn to play golf without it being a party and stopping on every other hole. I also decided to attend the church instead of playing during the services. I decided to give a painting to the church to show the appreciation I have for them putting the course in which led me back to God. At the tournament many church members came to me and thanked me for donating the painting and express how beautiful it was. That was so great for me to hear and really sent a message that I am going in the right direction. It was mentioned that they looked up my art on the internet, which was great and scary at the same time. I have people respecting me and looking up to something I do, and now I must not let these people down. I have always had this responsibility, just chose to ignore it. I was thinking on my way home from the tournament, that I thought more of my old friends would be there then I realized it was sanctioned and they would be at moffitt drinking. This is when I realized how many new friends I have met playing at windwood and I can't be more thankful for that.
