I'll have to get Chuck to change that....it's changed on the calendar but I guess he forgot to change it on the new things he posted. It was originally scheduled for the 4th & have to go to a training class for work that morning, so we changed it the 11th. If Chuck wants to go back to the 4th that's fine, but I won't be able to come if he does.

I had a pretty fun time this weekend and it was nice to get out and play SV in a tournament round and get to play with Joe Hague as well! Anyway the play was fun and everything ran fairly smoothly and on time but you guys still need to work on your card groupings to help with the flow.
Also there is no need to pay 60% of a division especially open when the suggested is 40%. |

I thought that Chuck had the payout at 50%....which I believe might also be the suggested payout by PDGA (not sure though). Glad you had fun though, Matt and we're trying to get better at getting the cards right. I know that because of your sponsorship that it can hurt your ratings to play in our smaller events...plus there are only a couple of championship courses in town (one of which we can't even play) that someone with your talent & arm would rather be playing on. We're trying to do the best with the courses we have though...and we originally set out to have a series for am players to begin with anyway. I wish we knew what the secret is in all these other cities in the country where the players & the local parks departments have programs & facilities far superior to just about anything in Houston. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with who you know in the right places to make that sort of thing happen...if it was as simple as having enthusiasm for the sport we'd have more great courses here. Unfortunately, most people I talk to about the sport have never even heard of it! We need to recruit some city council members or something...I don't know. But I think everybody had a good time Saturday and the Chain Gang sounds like they're at least going to try to keep up maintenance on those courses mentioned. We need groups like that all over the city to get interested locally...write letters to the parks departments asking them to maintain the existing courses and possibly build new ones. The City of Sugarland seems to be biting...they've put in at least three courses this past year alone! Still no championship courses, but still...at least the mayor there knows what disc golf is! Thanks again for participating Saturday.

I'm gonna cry.... we'r all getting along! LOL! No, but seriously, I want to thank everyone that signed up for info on the North Side Chain Gang. I had no idea that we would get the support we did. I assure you that Spring Valley was just the tip of the iceberg for what we have set out for the initial goals of the organization. I must say that between the turnout, the course, and the weather, that was my favorite Birdshot event yet. I'm just curious, next month's Birdshot will be Jack Brooks on the 11th? Is that right? I'm getting calls from some Chain Gangers that were confused on what was listed on Houston Birdshot. Hope to see another sell out tournament next month!

Did you see that the PDGA has the Kingwood tourney results listed for the Spring Valley tourney?

Yeah, I think Chuck was going to try and take care of that.

I forgot to copy the scores from the tournament spreadsheet over to the TD report for Spring Valley so the Kingwood scores were still there. I have emailed the corrected TD report to PDGA. Sorry about that to all the Spring Valley players.
