Who's the pot stirrer? Sue, there's an old saying that staes that when it seems like everyone else is the problem, then maybe you are the problem. I know we don't see eye to eye, but I cannot recall a single issue in the last year that you had a positive outlook on. I know I can cross lines, and so can just about anybody here, but you seem to live across the line! There is a lot of new blood out there that is untapped or kept at bay by this mentality that comes from people who think that because it is done differently, it is wrong. Evolution is inevetable, and change must happen to further this sport. Ideas in the evolution of this sport have come and gone. Some have stayed though, and they have become part of the game. I don't see you here in North Houston supporting tournaments, nor in any Houston tournaments to think of it this year. I love that you play in different places, and think it's awsome that you travel to play so much. I respect that you are such an advocate for women in disc golf. But I see there is an entire subject on here dedicated to Women's Nationals, so people DO care. If you are pissed that people seem to not care, then remember the history of your sport. There is very little in the way of public recognition involved with our sport. BTW, evolution and change will fix that. But if you can't find it in yourself to support new blood for the mistakes that will be made along the way, then you perpetuate the problem. For if we cannot get support from within our own ranks, then how the hell is the public supposed to get behind it.
I gave up trying to please you a long time ago, about when you gave me holly hell for winning my first event. I think you need to have some patience with the sport and its evolution. Mistakes will be made, and fixed (as they have), but all in all, Houston disc golf is progressing and getting better with or without your approval. |

...?I guess no one took the time to look up and post a link to the results ...? [sarcasm] Do we need to hold a fundraiser tourney to buy more coffee for Sue? Sorry to hear you are unable or not ready to work out your issues with Billy - It's been painfully obvious that's where your issues are here. For the record - regardless of an opinion anyone may have, I have no bitterness or issues with anyone on this board and I really like everyone I've personally met from this board. It is truly saddening and no one wants anyone to go away but if your not ready to work out your differences, .. maybe you've come up with the best solution already.I don't know, but beating up on Birdshot and it's members simply because your bitter for whatever reason isn't helping the sport. ![]() Most people agree they are doing a damn good job as their growing numbers certainly indicate - so I don't think it's their credibility your hurting either. I don't care how long you've been playing PDGA events or how long you've been a PDGA member, what gives you the right to question someones caring level for our hurricane victims when no such reference was made...That was absolutely pathetic, you should be ashamed of yourself and it has exposed you as nothing more than someone whos a very bitter, unhappy person. Damn, I'm almost afraid to even post anything anymore! Mattman made a good suggestion.....we should contact Harris County regarding Tom Bass & offer help cleaning up the Wilmont. The county employees probably don't usually work weekends, but maybe we could organize a work day where we do some cutting & dragging & then the county guys could come out during the week & either haul it off or chip it. We need to let them know that States is most likely coming back to Bass next year anyway & hopefully we can get them to mow it when it needs mowing.

Wow, some are very thin skinned, I wonder if they could survive the PDGA message board.
As for posting links to results, I would hope everyone here can navigate the PDGA site and does so regularly.

I don't think I have any unresolved issues with anybody...maybe they have some with me & I'm just not aware of it. I am one of those old hippie types who generally wants to get along with everybody (even you, Sue!)...I like to avoid conflict if at all possible (yes, I'm a wuss!)....and would rather talk it over than fight (only been in two fights my entire life & those were mostly just trying to defend myself from getting pulverized by some redneck jerk in high school!)...On the other hand, I am quick (sometimes too quick) to defend myself on a statement I've made or something that I've done that seems to have been misunderstood (like the comment about the trees)....then when the tumbleweed starts on this forum it just gets crazy sometimes!

Lou,
I don't think it is a matter of being thin skinned. Most anybody will tell you I'm an equal opportunity abuser, and that means I'm not even off limits from myself! I'm just tired of hearing about the nobody cares, and it's all being done wrong, and the whole back in the good old days crap. What the hell is wrong with these days? Other than no progress being made other than a great state's tournament every year, there is apparently nothing worth even supporting here. At least that is the face put on by some. Scarier still is the thought of how such people portray Houston Disc Golf when they are on the road. I mean, yeah, we need improvements, but I still talked up Houston Disc Golf when I was at world's this year. So did the guys that traveled with me. Shoot, we formed North Side Disc Golf as a result of the networking that went on while we were AT worlds. You know me well enough Lou to know that I hate complaints without solutions. BTW, a solution is not a temper tantrum of unfairness thrown at the TD's table. I love Houston Disc Golf, (especially North Houston) and I'm excited about the new ideas and new people we are seeing. Bringe 'em on, bc we need 'em! |

Wow, you posted a link! How thoughtful. Given the importance of that MAJOR event, you would have thought that you guys might be interested in how we all did. Oh, but I forgot it wasn't about you guys so you just weren't interested until someone pointed it out. Genuine interest I say. As for Billy, I DON'T HAVE AN ISSUE WITH HIM. Ignorance is what I can't stand. |

Sue, come play Jack Brooks this comming month. Show some Houston Disc Golf Support and maybe you might get more of the recognition and attention you want or think you deserve above anybody else. I can tell you that this is why people rant back at you. Maybe they aren't as vocal about it as myself, but I'm not looking for friends with this. Hell all I ask is that you spell my name right on the bathroom wall! |

One last thought.....
To you guys who don't play PDGA events on a regular basis don't understand what the rules are about. And they are there to keep things consistant no matter where you are playing an event. It isn't okay to not follow the rules, if that is the style you want, then don't sanction them. Most of you guys don't ever leave the confines of the Houston Metro Area, so you have no reference from which to draw any conclusions on how Buckshot Boys are doing. Why don't you all just go back and work on getting new courses installed around town with all those extra baskets that the Parks Dept has just laying around collecting dust. You seem to think that is sooooooooo easy, I just say.......... GO FOR IT! And we all have opinions, I've had to read yours and you all can read mine too. Or just pass it on by (if you can) Cranky Sue to you! |
