Birdshot/Heart of Houston Open (HOHO)/Jan. 15, 2011

Please join us on Saturday January 15th, 2011 for the First Annual Heart of Houston Open at Mozolla & Tinsley Parks. This will be our first tournament for the 2011 Birdshot Championship Series and will incorporate the existing course at Mozolla plus the proposed course expansion on the Tinsley side over next to Allen Parkway. HFDS has been negotiating with the City Parks department to expand the course to the other side of the bayou & this will give HPARD an oppurtunity to see what the course could be like. Watch for more details here and on Birdshot's website. Pre-registration should be up soon at www.houstonbirdshot.com. We love the fact that Heart of Houston Open becomes HOHO...maybe next time we should do it closer to Christmas & invite Santa!

So...does this mean that there is going to be someone from HPARD at the tournament then to view the proposed layout?

It's my understanding that Richard Fason has been in contact with HPARD regarding all of this & that the city representative(s) will be invited...whether they actually show up or not remains to be seen. But hopefully someone will be taking lots of pictures to show them if they don't show up! By the way....anybody interested in bringing a PDGA approved basket needs to get in touch with any Birdshot staff & let us know (this has already been mentioned, but it can't hurt to mention it again!)....double chains would be great if you have them!

Just a reminder & a bump....registration is open....and please get in touch if you are able to bring a basket! This is the first sanctioned Birdshot event for 2011....please get PDGA current to save that extra ten bucks...and if so, don't forget to bring a printout of your receipt in case your new membership card doesn't arrive on time!

The PDGA coordinator for Texas (Gary Duke) has not approved our 2011 schedule yet...we had this same problem last year at the beginning of the year. I'm sure a phonecall from Chuck or Tiffany to PDGA will get us sanctioned before the event...but that's why it's not on the schedule yet. Hopefully we can get that rectified in the next couple of days!

ATTTENTION ALL BASKETS! ATTENTION ALL BASKETS! PLEASE HAVE YOUR OWNERS VOLUNTEER YOUR SERVICES TO HOHO!!!! Now that I've got your attention....Chuck sez we need 4 more baskets to complete the expansion course for next weekend. If you're planning on attending (or even if you're not) please get in touch with one of your local Birdshot people (you all know who we are) so we can get everything arranged in plenty of time for the tournament on the 15th! Registrations are slowly coming in....I think the foul-up with the PDGA scheduling is hurting us a little...but I guarantee you that we ARE having a tournament next weekend, and it's the first one of the year for the Birdshot 2011 Championship Series! Oh...and did I mention that right now our ace pot is sitting at $446.00? And that's before added ace money from this tournament, which I'm sure will kick it up to $500.00! Maybe that will get you motivated, huh? Seriously....get in touch if you can bring a basket...thanks!
