I meant to post this several weeks ago, but forgot to do it.
My daughter Nicole (SuperGirl) plays soccer for the Albion Hurricanes Futbol Club. Her soccer team won the Texas State Championship a few weeks ago in the U15 Super2 division. Nicole was one of the star players on the league’s best defense, which only surrendered 5 goals during the entire fall season (including the state playoffs). When you add a strong offense (38 goals scored) to the league’s top defense, you get a championship caliber team. I just want to add how proud I am of her. The state soccer title is a nice addition to her sports resume that also includes her title as the 2009 U16 Junior Girls World Disc Golf Champion. Nicole is currently playing high school soccer (club soccer will resume when the high school soccer season ends). The good thing about high school soccer is that most of the games are played during the week, as opposed to club soccer that plays all their games on the weekends. Therefore Nicole is hoping to play some disc golf on her free weekends. I took her to Windwood a couple of weeks ago. Although she was really rusty and was spraying shots all over the place, when we left the course all we talked about was the good shots and how she enjoyed being out on the course again. She’ll probably play mostly casual rounds, but hopefully we can make it to a few mini’s or maybe even a tournament. See you on the course. Rick |
