Default PDGA 2011 Tour Standards

The tour standards doc has been released with changes for 2011:
http://www.pdga.com/documents/pdga-tour-standards

Of interest to players playing in big tourneys (NT & Pro Majors):

• Enhancements to the online version of the Certified Officials Exam. The official’s exam can now be taken completely online an
unlimited number of times with instant pass / fail notification.

• Certified officials will be required to recertify. Certification will be valid for three years. Each PDGA sanctioned event will also
receive a free exam that can be taken by the Tournament Director or Assistant Tournament Director.

• All competitors competing in a National Tour Elite Series or Professional PDGA Major will be required to pass the Certified
Officials Exam.

If you really want to test yourself on Disc Golf rules, Birdshot has a rules test that will put your brain in a vice grip and tighten. This test is for the serious player that thinks they know the rules. If you have 1 1/2 hours to dedicate to it, email me at charleshconaway@yahoo.com and I will send it to you. Make 90% closed book and you will earn a certificate of achievement from Birdshot.

Default Test Before You Play

I'm sure most know this but I figured posting it for the few that don't go on the PDGA site won't hurt.

In 2011 the Certified Officials exam will undergo some changes and will impact a larger portion of the PDGA membership. Below is a series of common questions that the PDGA office has received. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact the PDGA Office at (706) 261-6342 or office@pdga.com.

Q: Who has to take the PDGA Certified Officials Exam?
A: Tournament Directors of PDGA Sanctioned events are required to be a Certified Official. Starting in 2011 passing the Official's Exam is now required for all amateurs and professional competitors playing in a National Tour Elite Series or PDGA Major event.

See the PDGA site for the other questions.

TxSDGC is an NT event for pros and an A-Tier for ams. You will not have to pass the test to play any am division.
