Has to be a "clean ace"? REALLY? Somebody explain the logic of this to me beyond just futher relaxing the underwriters of the event. It shouldn't matter. Not like the skips are that big off of that surface, but c'mon man! I don't know about the rest of you, but if a SKIP ace DID happen, and nobody else hit, I'd be BOOING the denial of the prize money from the top deck along with a bunch of other spectators! An ACE is an ACE. Hell, I've watched Stevo nail an ace that actually went off a PERSON! LOL! Even the guy who got hit thought it was cool.

I agree that skip Aces should count, but I'm not playing States or throwing for the Ace. I do, however, feel that the wedgies DO NOT count, as per the new PDGA rules. Right Nez?! (found that out at Ice Bowl during the putting contest with my BlowFlyII)

Yup, it has to be a clean ace. Your foot can't be in front of the line when you release. The ace has to be clean and a video of the entire shot from your release to it hitting the basket has to be available to the insurance company. In addition we have to have the signature of a law enforcement professional who witnessed the throw sign the claim form and we'll need a pint of blood and an hour of EKG records. Plus, there's a post-throw drug test.

OK, I'm kidding about the drug test. Don't everyone freak out.

I am still working with the underwriters to establish all the rules for the challenge. I've been told that skip aces don't count but I will counter on this that a skip ace is still a hole-in-one. The insurance company is basically betting that no one can hit an ace and they're going to make the rules in their favor.

I'll see what I can do though.

is HFDS putting up the insurance premium? If so maybe there should be a vote....... I'm just sayin...
i know DG proshop and birdshot...... Hey wasnt it you who was saying an ace pot over 500 dollars wouldnt attract any extra people? and it was a waste to go higher hmmmmmm imagine that. I'd say you guys are genius'

why yes it was...haahha
direct qoute..

"I'm not saying that you should cap it. A $1,000 ace pot is won't be a much bigger draw than a $500 one, but the week after it's hit you'll be back to pocket change for the ace pot. Something to think about." Chris MacG

So if no one hits the ace...you lose your 500 dollars... oh well it's your money...

What if multiple people hit the ace? I for one am planning on it, so I want to make sure if someone else hits one after I do they will get something as well. Or with 10Gs I could probably have a T-shirt printed up for them that says, "I hit an ace after Sheldon and all I got was this T-shirt!" ha ha ha

No, that is not what I said. I like how you missed the point of what I said and then quote me not saying what you thought I said.

Scott, this isn't an ace pot. This is a $10,000 Hole-in-One Challenge. What I wrote above is still my advice to you on the ace pot, but this event has nothing to do with ace pot policies.

We are not organizing this event to make money, or to attract folks to the party or even to get folks to register for States. We're doing this because it sounded like a fun thing to do. How many opportunities do we get to throw a disc in front of 700-1,000 people for $10,000? How often is our sport showcased to non-disc golfers?

We're doing this because we love disc golf.

The $10,000 Hole-in-One Challenge has nothing to do with Birdshot's Ace Pot (or any of our league ace pots). We will still have a $500 Ace Pot at the Higher Power Open II in May.

As long as folks have a good time and we get to see some exciting throws, our money will be money well spent.
