Disc golfers, I hate to bring you the news that the Links is being pulled on Sunday, March 6th but after more than it's share of final tourneys the Links really is going away for good. This coming Sunday we will be pulling the baskets to take them to Jack Brooks for Texas States and they won't be coming back. That means that you have to join us on Sunday morning as we give those cherished chains one last round of chain slamming disc golf.
Birdshot is hosting one last, final mini at the Links and will be helping to pull the baskets after a 27-hole round is finished out there. All entry fees are $10 for Novice, Rec, Intermediate, Advanced and Open divisions. Half the entry fees will go to Texas States and the rest is going to payout. Sign-up is from 8 to 8:45am, player's meeting at 9am and we'll kick-off the mini at 9:15am. More details available on the Birdshot website. Let's send this course out in style and give it a wake by the lake that we can all remember. |

Thanks, Chris...sorry I jumped the proverbial gun on this one a little while ago...I should have talked to you & Neal BEFORE I posted something!
Thanks to ERic for removing the thread...no, I was not banned! Wish I could be there to play & help, but Team Chingshot will be dodging discs and possibly even bullets at Snow Farm!

Wish I could be there, but the rest of you don't forget about this Sunday! The Missing Links really will be missing after this Wake By the Lake...don't miss out (plus HFDS really needs your help pulling those baskets!)...

If you haven't made it out to Brooks for one of the workdays yet, please make it out for this event. We need help pulling the baskets and getting them over to Neal's house for converting to the wheel bases. These baskets will be heading to Brooks in the next few weeks to be installed as the third course for Texas States.
Plus, you'll get to play the last round of disc golf on the course, ever. |

Super bummed to have missed that. Miss that course. Of course, I would have probably dumped most of my bag in whatever water is left.

Sixteen folks showed up and played the Links and the back half of the Largo (or at least most of it). Eight folks in Open with Dave Hemmeline taking first, Neal Dambra in second and Derek Lang and C.J. Hopper both splitting third. Rec went to Andrew Meyer and Novice went to Steve Flanigan.
After the rounds we pulled the baskets while Conner swam in some of the ponds for discs. Last count he had a dozen discs, some that had been in that water for many, many years. Many thanks to everyone who showed up. It was a lot of fun. Birdshot raised $94 for Texas States and we all had a good time. |

My first time out at The Links, loved it. Props to Eric and Neal, great job, one of the top courses around. Like Dixon said, this is real golf... drives, approaches, putts. If i could only stay inbounds id be fine. I really hope this one comes back after states
