Here's a thought......either take a dollar out of every league entry towards concrete and/or have a weekly mini where half the entry fee goes to payout & the other half goes to concrete (or whatever amount the persons in charge would think is good). Jake did weekly Sunday minis at Brooks about four years ago to raise money for baskets for the new course....I think he had most of what he needed after just the one season. Also bring out a donation jar every week to league & encourage people to donate what they can. Or maybe a once a month mini or fundraising tourney (two rounds) & split the payout/donations 50/50. Birdshot would be happy to organize a fundraising mini or tourney, but doing it just once won't bring in the bucks! Just an idea....

It doesn't take long to raise $140 or so per box. That is how much it cost us. We got the lumber donated to make the forms from a construction site that was finished doing it's framing. Concrete was $165 for a yard and a quarter and each box didn't take that much. It obviously would be different if you have to pay someone to do it but if that is what the city wants that is what the city will get. :-)

the key is patience. $50 here and $100 there on a weekly basis before you know if you have all the money you need to do a few at a time. If you can get a few in the ground I bet people would be more willing to put a dollar or two in a jar if they can see where their money is going.

Another very key requirement is for someone to "Own it" take ownership of the project maje an appointment with the parks rep yourself get the requirements, limitations restrictions and so on straight from the horses mouth... Then begin organizing, setting dates to begin work, running minis or whatever to raise funds.. What I'm saying is stop passing the buck to "someone" , "they", "we", "them", "y'all", "the club" and so on

I'm more than Happy to spearhead fundraising for this cause, and have already been talking it up. I want to help to see this done right!
