Lightbulb Re: Inner Chains?

H&ll, I remember about 8 years or so ago, maybe 10, that there was a rampage and LOTS of the baskets in the Houston area were double chained.

Now, if you need to get rid of the added chains to help ease your fears, I have a basket in my backyard that could use a set.

The way I read the technical standards doc is that it is focused on the designer and manufacturer, not the end user.

But even so, the first offense requires the offender to explain what happened. In the first place, this will never, EVER be questioned by anyone with authority. If it ever were to be questioned, the "punishment" is minimal.

I say lets go for it.

NO MORE SPITS!! NO MORE SPITS!! NO MORE SPITS!!

(and just for the record doug, this wasn't a scott coleman spit, this was an honest to goodness, nose down, deflected off of the pole, turned sideways and went straight out of the back spit)

Wouldn't bother me, I might have been HFDS President at the time. All of the baskets at MacGregor on 19, 20. and 21 are Brian's plus a few we replaced that were stolen. They all have been donated to the City by now I'm sure.

We didn't quite play by the rules but we gotter did.

Sorry for the thread jump Windwood.

I did get the official shipping price for the additional set of chains for 21 baskets. $30 for shipping. So that is good news. They originally thought it was going to be $100.

So the new total is now $765. That is VERY good news! As I have said, I think additional chains would be WONDERFUL and it is on our list of improvements.

Certainly it will get done in due time BUT if there are a group of players or businesses that would like to support the purchase of the inner chains we most certainly would find away to recognize those folks and we can get them super fast. It can always be a tax deductible donation as well. :-)

Thanks for all your solid input and I look forward to the continued improvements.

Doug

Where is the best deal on hot-dip galvanized finish. 2/0 straight link coil chain, rings and s-hooks?

How would you get the inner chains approved?

Sorry haven't read the whole thread but they don't have to be this exact type of chain. The Titans use heavier inner chains that have shorter links.

So if you can find a good deal on some other stuff that would work well go for it.
