Shawshank Saturdays!/First Saturdays Every Month
The Warden himself asked me to post this up for those of you who love to play disc golf at this one-of-a-kind course just outside of Huntsville...beginning this Saturday June 4th, Steve Dufrane is hosting Shawshank Saturdays, a full day of disc golf, food & fun! These events will be on the first Saturday of every month until the Warden says he can't take it anymore (which may be never!). The $20 entry fee includes lunch & green fees, with $10 going towards cash payout...$5 extra if you want in on the ace pot, which Steve is starting at $250! Be there to sign up no later than 8:30...tee time will be at 9:00 for the morning round...then lunch & an afternoon round! Payout as soon as the calculations are made & then you're also welcome to stick around for a party on the patio and even a round of night golf if you're interested, so bring your glow discs or LED lights if you're interested in participating in that also. Sounds to me like a full day (and night) of golf & lunch from Double Dave's for 20 bucks is quite a deal. Interested parties should show up or call Steve at 281-682-9446...if you've not been up to play this course yet you don't know what you've been missing!

I just got off the phone with the warden & he's concerned because apparently some of you have been freaking out on Facebook about having to get up early enough Saturday morning to get to the prison by 8:30...buncha babies!
 So...Steve is being complacent & pushing everything up about half an hour for you girls...be there by 9:00 & things should start rolling about 9:30. Also please go ahead & call Steve to RSVP if you're coming up...this will help him figure out how much food he'll need...his number is still 281-682-9446. Bring your game & remember that there will be no Get Out Of Jail Free cards!

Remember that you can make any day a Shawshank Day as long as you call Steve Dufrane ahead of time & let him know you're coming out...

I just called Steve about this coming saturday and this is still on.
Since only 4 folks showed last month Steve mentioned lowering the entry to 10 bucks and people feed themselves. you may want to call him and confirm, or if someone thats helping him run this get the word out and get an official word that would be great. saturday is my last day to play golf in the houston area and id like to lose with a bang! see ya there Keith

im moving to fredericksburg tx. near luchenbach. about an hour and a half nw of austin.
some guys that play shawshank just about everyday were at mcdoubles tonight (mcdade dubs). and said since its 4th of july weekend, steve was doing the tourney the 9th. i didnt want to call and bug steve again so my previous post could be a complete lie :P sorry in advance

The Warden asked me to post here that you are invited to Shawshank Saturday tomorrow, July 9th to get beat black & blue with a Roc! Ten bucks gets you in for two rounds & includes lunch...so if you're feeling like a little crime & punishment, give Steve a call at 281-682-9446 & let him know that you're on parole & ready to roll!
