Thanks for checking Dustin! If any of the Golden Triangle gang has any more of those TBM Rocs, I'd be willing to buy some!

Richard - I'll keep on plugging away at some of the other Grands that I know and see if I can get them motivated to get signed up.

I know a lot of you people traditionally wait until the last minute to sign up, but remember this IS just a week away now! You can register online at www.houstonbirdshot.com until next Friday night...this is always a great tournament so don't wait til the last minute or especially until the day of to sign up. It would be a drag to drive all the way to Beaumont and the tourney's full! Good idea to sign up now.....nuff said!

This weekend the guys from GTDG had a work day out at Klein Park and from what I've heard the course is looking great! They've brought in sand and rocks to shore up the ground around the tees and make them safer for throwing. The long tees have been cleaned up and underbrush trimmed and the course cleared out. Big thanks to Golden Triangle Disc Golf for putting in the great effort and helping us to put on this tourney.

Once again, if you haven't signed up get to it. You've got about 100 hours left until registration closes.

The course does look fantastic. We picked up trash, knocked down dead trees, trimmed low hanging branches, removed brush piles, weedeated some woods fairways, put rock and sand down for the dangerous tee box cliffs, etc....

PLUS, as of right now, we're giving away $250 in CTP money!!! At least $50 of that will go to all of you out of towners for traveling expenses. For anyone who drives 75 miles or more to get here, you will be able to compete in the $50 cash for gas CTP, with $30 going to 1'st and $20 going to 2'nd. May not pay for he whole trip but it sure will help. So theres even more reason for those of you from Houston or further to come one down.

Last, if you want your very own Glow Boss, pick them up while there hot with this years Custom Tourney stamp!!!

See you all SOON

Dang! I'm having a hard time believing that registration is going so slow for this tourney...it's a good course in great shape - let's shake it loose and get yourselves signed up!

Looks like Beaumont might get a bit of rain on Friday before, and the temps ought to be a little bit cooler than the Houston temps, so although it ain't much difference, it should be a tad better weather in Beaumont on Saturday than in H-town.

I sure am looking forward to this!

Larry

I spoke via e-mail with Dustin a little while ago to find out if there will be on-site lunch available this year & he said NOPE!...that there are probably 100 restaurants within three miles of the course so they're not bothering with it this time around. So plan on eating out somewhere or pack a lunch...it's gonna be hot (duh!) so bring plenty of water...we'll have some coolers out on the course & will ATTEMPT to keep them full, but that doesn't always work out so you might want to pack a few bottles in your own cooler to have plenty on hand. Online registration will most likely shut down around suppertime tomorrow night, so be sure to register today if you're going that route. Otherwise, be there bright & early Saturday morning to make sure you get in before it fills...there are a little over 40 pre-registered as of this afternoon, so we should have plenty of room for walk-ups...but I would get there early 'cause you never know! We should be ready to start taking day-of registrations by 7:30...remember that there is an extra $5 fee for signing up on Saturday. This is going to be a great tournament as usual...I know we've been needing rain but let's hope it gives us a break on Saturday for the tournament. If not, I've got my umbrella & sexy boots if I need 'em...see you Saturday morning!

We have 57 pre-registered as of this morning....starting to fill up now...very cool! Did I mention there will be a $500 ace pot? Yeah, that's right...and for the first time in Birdshot's history we have a second reserve $500 ace pot! So if someone (or someones) hits it tomorrow we'll have another $500 ready for next months tournament...just to be clear, if there are multiple aces tomorrow you will be sharing a $500 ace pot! Did I mention the $500 ace pot?
