Don't forget to mention that Birdshot's has a $500 Ace Pot that we've been trying to give away all year. We thought it was a goner for sure in June but here it is in July and we still haven't had an ace. What are there 15 spots left for pre-registration? We'll have some more available for walk-ups but don't count on that. Register TODAY (before 6pm).

If there's anybody up still reading this you might want to think twice about driving up to Beaumont trying to get in (or if you're up early reading this)...we've only got 15 spots left & that's with five cards!!! We'll probably be ready to start taking walk-ups at 7:30...do you feel lucky? Another good reason to register EARLY! Great response, but as usual the majority of you waited until the last couple of days....could be hot....could be soggy...could be both! Hope you guys & gals are ready for whatever Mother Naure has in store for us tomorrow...gotta go to bed now & get my five hours sleep! See everybody there in the morning!

This was my 1st Beaumont tourny and i love it. The course was very nice. Was kinda bummed we didnt throw from the blues, but maybe next year. Thank you to everyone who helped out in anyway. From sponsers, to tds, to birdshot and golden triangle, to the people that got the course in the shape thats its in now. Wish the weather hadnt started out the way it it, but cant control that. All in all, it was another well run tourny. I had a blast playin this course and the Beaumont guys were awsome. I will be there next year for sure. Also, congats to all the winners and a big CONGRATS to Griff on hitting that $500 ace on #17. NICE! See everyone at Shawshank next month.

The SSA from the shorts the last couple years has been 46.xx, which is consistent with Rd1 this year.

When you have a low SSA like that each stroke is worth more ratings points in order to keep the player rating spacings with a tighter score distribution. It's called "compression". See: http://www.pdga.com/documents/ratings-guide for more explanation. The "10 points per stroke" is only truly accurate for SSA=50.4.

I do want to crunch some numbers myself but so far things don't look too far off.
