Birdshot's next sanctioned series event will be Saturday August 20th at Steve Dufrane's Shawshank DGC just outside of Huntsville....home of the 2011 U.S. Masters this past spring! There are quite a few sponsors this time around who are coming together to bring this one to you in order to help raise some money for the United States Womens Disc Golf Championship which will be held this fall in Round Rock, Texas...The Warden, Mr. Dufrane himself, will be kicking back a dollar from every players greens fee, if you opt in to pay $5 for Double Dave's Pizza for lunch then Double Daves will kick back a dollar, Susan Macaluso is donating items for sale & all proceeds will go towards USWDGC, Joe Hague & Southern Star will have a keg flowing for donations and, of course, our title sponsor Disc Golf Consultants will be conducting an all day CTP For CTP contest (much like the one they did at the finale last year at Brooks). Sure it'll still be hot, but there's lots of shade at Shawshank & Steve will water out all over the place...so make plans to come up & get yourselves beaten black & blue with a Roc! More details & online registration should be available soon at www.houstonbirdshot.com.

When do you think online registration for this will be made available? (I just checked and the BS website isn't showing it yet.)
I have no idea where the alternate tees would be on this course...which ones did we play at US Masters?

it's mostly alternate basket locations. You played all of the holes at some point if you played masters.

The tees will all be the standard Shawshank tees but baskets will be moved on many of the holes between the two rounds. Hole #1, for example, has three potential basket locations. If you played USM in April you'll have played everything we're going to play at Black & Blue. |

I'm excited about this one. Went up there Sunday, and the course is in great shape (as always). There was about 15 of us, and Steve threw in two shirts (1 for a ctp hole and 1 for overall score) and some other things. Steve is doing new improvements all the time and they are such great host to tournies or even just the day out there. Thanks again for everything Dufrane family. Even though i never really play great out there, i'm ready for the Shank. See everyone out there on the 20th. Oh, and btw, if u have'nt had there breakfast on tourny day, make sure u pay for it. Its worth just going for.

Thanks Chris!
I've signed up in MPG with Ace Pot and lunch options. Thanks for making that easy! ![]() Larry
