As previously mentioned, a group of us would like to get out there EARLY, possibly for a bit of glow golf. Is it possible to get the gates open early or shall we park at Nickster's?

This just in:
Whoever plays the most rounds will get a dri-fit shirt from Birdshot! You pick the size so no random womens smalls. Unless that's what you want. Make your plans to stop by sometime during the day and walk away with at least one awesome disc and possibly a lot of discs, some cash, a traveler basket, or a new dri-fit shirt.

How long will this go on tomorrow? I have a 10:00 apt to take my dog to the vet and just wondering if it would be worth driving out after that is done.

I will be showing up at 7 am to finalize tee's and setting up. At 8 am, I will be ready to start taking walk up sign ups. At any point during the day that you are available, show up. As soon as there are a couple of people ready to go out you can go out. You can play at any point during the day. The card just has to be turned in by 8 pm because that is when i'm packing up and heading home. There will not be an awards ceremony. I will post online and contact directly the winners and make arrangements to get them their prizes. (To everyone)So it will definitely be worth coming out after or before whatever you have going on tomorrow. We have a chance as a community to really put a dent in the financial requirement to upgrade one of our most played and most visible courses in town. If we ever want to accomplish any other projects we need to show that we can accomplish something as a group. This will be the springboard that we need to get to the next level of achievement as a club and as a group with mostly common goals. Help with this and then bring your needs to either the appropriate forum here or a future club meeting. We as a society want to elevate Houston Disc Golf. This is our first big step in a while, please help us see it through.

So, drumroll....
Richard Fason is our big winner. He hit 2 aces with his CFR Roc to take home first place. He also won the basket raffle but graciously paid it forward to another randomly drawn ticket by my daughter. In second we had Lance Steck with 1 ace and 2 metals, using a buzzz. In third place we had Richard Alghrim with 1 ace and 1 metal. In fourth we had a tie: Sam Price with 1 ace using a buzzz Bobby Rabalais 1 ace using a Roc and John Turner 1 ace using a buzzz There were 7 aces hit during the day. 3 were confirmed with a buzzz and 3 were confirmed with a roc. We are waiting trying to figure out what the other was. It will be the deciding factor.

Thanks in no particular order, but in a huge way:
First everyone who came out and supported. It was one of the hottest days I have endured outside from sun-up to sun-down completely outside. There were barely any casuals in the afternoon, so thanks to everyone who braved the heat to come and support what we are trying to do. That is the only way things get done in this city, we have to show up in numbers and support ourselves. This project is our springboard to get permission and support from HPARD to continue to evolve this cities courses with updates, redesigns, and course work in general. There are many other projects that we as a club would like to get started on, but we need to finish this and Jester first. Also, in no particular order: Baseball USA- gave us the first round of ice and water for our coolers Innova- for sending us some awesome ROC's and getting behind our funraising efforts Discraft- those are the flatest buzzz's I have seen in a couple of years, so I'm really happy. They also give out some awesome swag that will be our payout for the 4th place ties. Sue Mac-for bringing out the table and tent, they were a lifesaver, literally I would have died without it. Also thanks for the shirts donated. Texas Army Trail Crew- thanks for the pencils, they were greatly appreciated. (thanks for your course work efforts, you will get the credit due, and hopefully your turn for concrete tee fundraising) Michellustrations- Thanks for donating the photo shoots and for coming out and playing some golf Disc Golf Pro Shop- Andi and Don, thanks for buying 10 discs for 2 people. That was a big help Conrad- thanks for the extra cooler, printing the cards, and showing up early to make sure we were ready to go. Richard Fason- Thanks for hitting 2 aces. I hate it when 1 ace wins an ace race. Thanks for watching the table so I could get in a round. Birdshot- Specifically Chris MacGregor thanks for donating the dri-fit to the guy who played 6 rounds, and Billy Gilbert thanks for sticking out the second half of the day and helping us pack everything up in the dark. Also for babysitting me and making sure i wasn't going to pass out from heat exhaustion in the final stretch Stimpy (or formerly exalted one)- thanks for both your huge donation financially and the donation of the basket for the raffle. Houston Parks and Rec Dept: Thank you for coming out on a Saturday and hooking us up with the reinforcement ice, it carried us through the rest of the day and we had plenty of cold coolers. Also thanks for giving us the opportunity to run an event like this to help the cause for concrete teeboxes. It has been refreshing to work with someone like Marshall who has been transparent in this process.

It was a buzzz. So most aces by one person in asingle round was roc, but most aces for the day was a buzzz. Hmmm. May need to do this again.
