Despite some incredibly gusty winds on Sunday, the first Day-of-Mini was a great success. We had 35 folks show up to play and raised $235 towards the course in League City. The 18 hole course was intended to be a challenge in normal wind conditions; on Sunday it was insane.
I'd like to thank Andy Wright, Chris Vandagriff, Dax Nutt, Jason Quinn, Jarrod Belk, Doug Sullivan and Cody Carrothers for bringing out their baskets to help make the event a success. Also, many thanks to Billy Gilbert for helping with everything and Melissa for taking care of sign-ups. This event couldn't have happened without y'all. Results: Chris Vandagriff took first in Adv/Open with a 55, setting a course record that will never be broken. He was followed by Michael Ynfante in 2nd with 56. Charles Worster, Jimmy Solsbee and Randy Roland tied fro third with 58 and Dax Nutt and ERic Jubin tied for 6th with a 59. In Intermediate Ron Lantier, who drove in from Kingwood, took first with a 56. Crazy Rob Beihle took second with a 58. Aaron Shaffer and Clint McCollom tied for third with a 61. James Nindiffer took 5th with a 64, Marty Berry took 6th with 65 and Thomas Samson came in 7th with a 66. In Rec course resident Doug Sullivan took first with a 58. Andrew Baldwin came in 2nd with a 64 and I took third with a 66. Nick Saenz played Novice and won his division with a 75. Thanks to Doug Sullivan & Randy Roland for donating their winnings towards the new course too! The next Day-of-Mini will be October 2nd on the old Clear Lake Golf Course and we'll have a new course set up for everyone. If you can bring a basket, please let me know. On October 9th I'm going to run a $5 fundraiser mini at TLV for the second anniversary of that course going in. I'm currently looking for prize donations for that event as we can't give out cash at TLV. Let me know if you can donate something. |
