Here's week 5 results.

We played a hybrid layout again due to changing nature of the course. Rumor has it that all of the baskets from the original course are now placed in their new locations with two baskets now moved across the bayou near the North end of the course.

With one final week of regular play, and the awards week in between, we're still hoping that we might get to play our final league of the season on the North course layout.

Not a rumor The current 9 baskets are finally in thier proper place with the new layout, and sleeves are set for almost the entire remaining course.

We should be dropping more baskets in this week. Tee posts coming shortly after.

We'll schedule a tournament as soon as all 21-baskets are in place. We are thinking that we might do a quick, D-tier event just to get an "official" SSA set for the new layout...2 rounds of 21-holes.

I have mixed feelings about sanctioning a tourney and would like to hear everyone else's opinion about it.

Whether we sanction it or not, we still intend to use it as a fund-raiser event to begin repaying the money for the additional baskets that the club provided.

I'd guess that we're looking at something in October or November if it can be squeezed in without causing too much conflict with existing tournaments.

As far as a regularly scheduled mini at Jester, it will start up on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am on the first or second weekend of October provided the remaining 12 baskets get installed by then.

D-tier???

I think a sanctioned tourney out there would be great. I know that Birdshot has talked about coming out to TC Jester early next year for a sanctioned event too. I believe ERic can figure out SSA as long as enough rated players play too.

Our final BCS events of the year are on October 22nd at MacGregor and then November 5th at Bass, that leaves a lot of weekends open for a tourney at TC Jester.

D-tier???
Excerpt the 2008 PDGA Tour Standards Document:

A summary of changes in 2008 includes:
  • Eliminate the Developmental Tier (D-Tier) and replace it with a PDGA Competition Endowment Program.

Here's what I see for the upcoming schedule that might draw players form the Houston area:

10/01 HOTT Final @ Red Rock & National Teams @ Selah Ranch
10/08 [open]
10/15 Waterloo @ Austin
10/22 Birdshot @ MacGregor
10/29 [open]
11/05 Birdshot Finale @ Bass
11/12 [open]
11/19 Texas Teams @ Circle-R
11/26 [open] / Thanksgiving
12/03 Eberly Ranch tentative
12/10 Birdshot Awards tentative
12/17 [open]

Thanks ERic! I hadn't realized that the PDGA had dropped the D-tier stuff. I scoured the PDGA website TD info looking for it yesterday...

Geez...I really don't want to go to all of the trouble of having to find/provide player packs and the like. Looks like non-sanctioned might be a better way to go.

I like the date of 11/12/2011 best. The 10/08 date seems like it might be too soon to find the expansion completed. Giving HPARD until November to complete it seems like a safer bet.
