It's hard to believe, but Birdshot's turning four years old next month! Come help us celebrate this milestone at MacGregor Park on Saturday, October 22...this is the last series event before the finale in November, so if you're trying to get your series points in for the year the time is running out! There is a strong possibility that the City of Houston will impose a smoking ban in all Houston parks due to the drought. Currently the Mayor's office and HPARD are looking into the feasibility of such a ban. Already the city has banned open flames (BBQs, camp fires) in parks. If the city imposes such a ban it will fall under section 3.3 of the PDGA Player Code of Conduct, i.e. players caught smoking will receive a disqualification.

Let's hope the rain in the forecast shows up and drenches our city. We need it.

thats just gonna be during the round right? can i smoke in the road since its not the park? what happends if i have withdrawls? can we have e-cigs? what if were in the port a potty? what if.....

No. The ban encompasses the entire park.

I'm borrowing one of Cathy's E-cigs for sure! Chris, it's only water vapor, I swear! But seriously....if the city parks rule says no smoking, then we must abide by their rules...just like out at Conroe! I would be more concerned about the hefty fine if HPD patrols the park (which they often do). I would say that between rounds if you want to smoke then head to your car & be discreet...I'm sure I'll head there a couple of times! It's not as hard as you think to not smoke during the rounds...I thought I was going to go crazy at Worlds in New York a couple of months ago, but it really wasn't that bad. Of course, when you know that you'll be disqualified if you do it then you don't really want one so bad...

Leave the park to smoke. Drive around the block and smoke, but not in the park.

you could go thru the wormhole (which may or may not be o.b.), i believe all alternate universes allow smoking
