Andi & Jen were each alone in their respective divisions....Andi requested to be on a card with other women, so there you go!

Lets see if I can upload the tournament spreadsheet so that everybody can see the scores, etc. I tried uploading to PDGA and got an error message "PDGA numbers can not be duplicated" Well, I sorted the PDGA numbers and did not see any duplications. I emailed the spreadsheet to Karolyn Garlock of PDGA to ask her to upload the scores. No, could not upload the spreadsheet here. I think you can see it at the Birdshot website. On the homepage, go to the red 2008 Greater Houston Championship Series link, then click on Results by the Bring Your Floata to Mozola.

Wouldn't the girls who played Novice men need to play with their division? At least for the second round if not the first?
And BTW, back in the day, we would have all played up to Advanced to make a division, even when I was a rec player that was the way it was done. Not understanding the policy being used, if you had two novice ladies, one advanced and one pro, I understand the advanced and open ladies being together, but there was a division for the Novices. There were six novice players, which should have been two cards of three. If the ladies wanted to play as ladies they should have signed up that way. Last edited by Suemac; 07-16-2008 at 10:05 AM. To each his own on what divisions you want to play. If you wanna step it up or play with men, so be it. I personally feel that if one is not going to play the tournaments then why express your opinions about them. We had a great time, don't take that away from us.

Wow, CJ did really well this past weekend too. Tracy, watch out, you two could be on the lead card next time!
If you have not had a chance to play with CJ, he's one of the most respectful kids you will ever meet. He's a great player as well. This isn't his primary sport, makes ya wonder how good he'd be if it was. He came out to SV for the mini last weekend and played well. He and Conall played a round at Bear Branch after, and it was really cool to watch people following them around the course to see how they were doing. Face it, we need more kids playing around here. |

+1 for everything you said about C.J., he's "cashed" at the last three SW Handicap Minis too. He's playing a lot and really improving fast.

You can't just DECIDE to break up a division's placement on cards to facilitate girls playing together. |

BTW, the reason why I don't play these events is because of inconsistancies like this. If it was a non sanctioned event, I wouldn't say anything. But it is sanctioned and it would seem like the event should be run as such.
And the reason I speak out, is I believe there is room for change aka enlightenment for the powers that be, and the only way they learn is by being made aware that what they are doing is not considered correct. And I think I'll just not read this board anymore, as any disent is squashed. This mob mentality choses to do things their own way, whether right or not. |
