A big huge thank you to all who showed up for the Birthday Bash yesterday...we had 87 players, some new faces along with all of the regulars....as usual we had a couple of snafus, but hopefully nothing to write home about! A huge thanks also to Tiffany Brogdon for doing what she always does for Birdshot...stepping up & saving the day & getting the rest of our asses in line so that we can hold the best events possible! Four years ago, Chuck Conaway, Mike Brockmyre, Gene Engel & myself had a vision of local tourneys geared towards the new & regular amateur players who wanted to work on their PDGA ratings without having to necessarily leave town to do so....we approached Andi & Don about vending for us & they agreed, and without them Birdshot would not exist! Back then it was mostly me & Chuck trying to do everything, and we didn't do it very well at first (and some of you let us know that very matter of factly)....we tried to take all constructive criticism seriously & learn from our mistakes. Chuck had the brilliant idea of having TD clinics for anyone who was interested...whether it be to help us out or start their own thing. From that first class we were fortunate to get Patrick & Tiff on the team & we started getting better almost overnight! A year later Chris & Melissa MacGregor came on board...and Chris has done a great job making our website look legit, not to mention designing a killer logo that you now see on a few shirts around town! Shortly after that, William (Dolla Bill) Thomason came on board as well & has been a huge asset for us....his enthusiasm for the sport is contagious & welcomed! However, none of this would have happened if you the players hadn't shown up to play....our thanks to you for continuing to do so for these past four years...and we hope you will keep coming back for more....FORE MORE YEARS!!!
