It's looking like we are going to move the Day-of-Course location from the fabulous Clear Lake Golf Course to a new location. I'm in talks with the City of Friendswood to use an old neighborhood that the city bought after TS Allison destroyed the houses. Imagine a cross between McDade and Mason with some Spring Valley thrown into the mix.
I've walked the course a few times and there are some unbelievable holes out there. Between Billy, Cory, Jason Quinn and I we've marked out 27 potential holes. I'm trying to nail down final approval for the property and find out exactly which part of the property we can use. With luck we'll know for sure by the end of the week. Get excited!

Chris walked the property again this morning with the City Parks guy in Friendswood....things are definitely GO for Day Of Course 4Ever...and it also looks like the City of Friendswood will be more than interested in putting a permanent course there! Registration for DOC4EVER will be up soon at www.houstonbirdshot.com..... you won't want to wait around to get into this one either!

Registration is up for Day-of-Course 4ever!
Don't miss this event. The course location is top notch with some amazingly fun and challenging holes. We'll be using land that will eventually become the Friendswood disc golf course. ![]()

I'm getting a group of folks together to walk the course tomorrow afternoon if anyone is interested. We're going to meet in the 1776 Park parking lot at 3:30pm and will probably stay out there until dusk.
I'm mostly interested in hearing from advanced/open players. Currently I've got Griff, Sam, Travis, Dax, Kula and the Brogdons coming out. Basket and tee box locations will be endlessly debated, discs will be lost and fun will be had. If you want to join us, please PM me. |

Last Friday Griff, Sam, Travis, Dax, Kula, Tiffany & Patrick came out to Friendswood and walked the course with me. The input of these folks was invaluable and we made some improvements to the course to make it more fun for players. Some critical tee box and basket locations were moved a bit here and there to make the course play better with better line options from the tee
. I put the changes into a course guide for everyone to look at:Day-of-Course 4ever Interactive Course Guide Griff says we've got at least four of the best holes in the Houston Area on this course and I'm happy to agree . Holes 3, 6, 11 and 16 are all amazingly scenic holes with multiple lines from the tee on each hole offering huge risk/reward benefits. Each one requiring a well places tee shot to multiple landing areas that factor heavily into your potential score. Hole 11, for example, offers you a 275' shot to the water's edge or a 340' shot up the hill and around the trees or for the big arms a 425' shot over the river to the far bank. Depending on your tee shot you could have a chance for a three at best, or a five if you're lucky. ![]() Take a look at the course guide and get yourself signed-up. If you want a preview of the course then show up this Saturday, February 11th, at 9am with some tools. We've got a few trails to cut through light brush (not too many sticker bushes out there) and some branches to clear here and there. If you have pruners, saws, machetes, rakes, gas-powered weed-whackers, pole saws or chain saws, we need your help. We'll be walking and clearing the course from 9am until noon. At noon we'll break for a free lunch of hot dogs and the like from Cory's Bike Shop and myself, then after lunch we'll set up some temporary baskets and play some holes as a mini. Come on out and preview this fantastic course. ![]() ![]() |

Don't forget Saturday's workday/mini in Friendswood at the Day-of-Course 4ever location. We're going to be clearing paths and trimming fairways in the morning and setting up holes and playing in the afternoon. Starts at 9am.
Bring rakes, pruners, saws (pole, hand, chain), machetes and the like. BBQ at noon sponsored by Cory's Bicycle Shop. |

dang I really want to play this Saturday but with all the rain in the area there's a very strong possibility that I"m going to have to work. Will there be morning of signups if there are places available?

We've got less than 20 spots left at this point so I imagine there will be some day-of spots available.
