Default Re: 2012 TX State Am Doubles - Mar 3-4 - Snow Farm

I heard from Gordon and Bird that the tournament filled yesterday.

Congrats to all of you who made it in, and sorry to all of you that didn't.

A full house at Texas State Amateur Doubles!!! This ought to be a rockin' good time! Randon reported that the ponds are full again (its been almost 2 years since that happened) and all is looking good for the tourney.

When we play the "Back-18" out there, we will be playing from the Blue tee on hole #14 as both of its shorter tees are swampy. (heh-heh-heh...it's been a long time since we've encountered that at the Snow Farm!)

See everyone out there on Friday night for check-in!

Larry

LoL!!! We can all be very thankful that we don't live in the midwest...or we don't live there any longer! Ha-ha! We'd be playin' in deep [real] snow conditions!

Hope everyone has been keeping an eye on the weather conditions. The forecast is showing 30-40% chance of rain on Friday, and cool clearing conditions for Saturday. High is predicted to be only 63 degrees, but the low is 42 degrees! Dang! That's gonna be a chilly start on Saturday morning.

Anyone got some extra hand-warmers they want to sell me? (Oh...I have it direct from the Baron himself, that we will be having a bonfire this year!!!! That'll be the first time in what, maybe a year and a half?)

Sunday's forecast looks to be in the low 70s and sunny all day.

I sure hope that everyone had as much fun as I did this last weekend!

Dang! The weather was perfect all weekend long ... well, except for that brief spit of rain we got during the first player meeting on Saturday morning...but the rain stopped just as Bird sounded the Two-minute Warning.

I don't know how everyone else felt about it, but it sure looked great to see the Snow Farm all green again. Last summer, even the prickly pear cactus were turning brown and dying from drought! I could see a lot of the blue bonnets and indian paintbrush were going to be blooming very soon. I think we should expect a banner wild-flower display this year!

Thanks to all of the staffers and to all of the players. Everything seemed to run pretty smooth all weekend long.

The bonfire on Saturday night was especially fun to see and what a treat from the last couple of years.
