Does that money go to the general club fund? Is the amount the club makes from leagues made public? See Birdshot, I'm not just picking on you guys. |

The club negotiates (on behalf of the membership) the best deal it can with a disc vendor to supply leagues with payout merchandise. Part of the deal includes a steeply discounted valuation for discs supplied as payout for leagues. I think we are valuing them at roughly 60% of retail pricing. Additionally, we require the vendors to make that discounted merchandise available to ALL league players at the discounted price. Often times, the vendors will also supply CTP prizes and other "goodies" out of their own pockets too, but we pretty much require the vendor to provide those services to all HFDS leagues although I think there have been times when vending duties were split between two different vendors because of location. Our current vendor is DG Consultants. The theory as I understand it, is that with the negotiated discount on merchandise that non-Gold division players recieve, it more than makes up for the 20% difference between Gold (cash-only) at 80% and the rest (merch-only) at 60%. Conrad produces a financial statement at each club meeting which shows the various sources of income. I don't know how the other LDs report their stuff, but I always waited until my leagues were complete before I finished up all of the bookkeeping and reported it to HFDS. I usually tried to remember to take any personal checks written to the very next club meeting to hand over to Conrad for depositing but I'd still wait until the whole league was over before tallying everything up and handing the cash over to the club. The amount of income that the club earns is published at the club meetings. It isn't very hard to figure out if you roll through any of the league worksheets. Other than a few other special events like The Moffitt Show (coming up April 28th next month) and the Commando Mini, I'm not aware of any other sources of income for the club - other than leagues and memberships.

JimG,
As far as I know there is not an annual summary, other than the running monthly total of the club's treasury. |
