Tourney Trophy Birdshot DG Pro Shop/Texas Womens Disc Golf Championships/April 13-15, 2012

Just in case there are a couple of you out there who didn't already know about this, this year's Texas Womens Disc Golf Championships are coming to Houston for the first time! This will actually be a part of the Birdshot DG ProShop's Tour 12 Series...which means that you guys out there can earn series points by volunteering your time & services at the event(s) during the weekend, whether that be by being a caddy for one of the players or volunteering to help in any other way. Those who volunteer for one day will earn 15 series points & those who volunteer for the whole weekend will earn 35 series points...that's more than some of us would earn at an actual tournament, so take advantage of that & help out at the same time! For more information about the event & for you ladies to register, please go to www.texaswomensdgc.com.

Just checked the PDGA tour schedule & there are only 23 players registered so far for this event, so please encourage any ladies (all ages!) to sign up! Sure, there are competitive fields...but there are also fields for all skill levels & this is more about having a fun weekend of frisbee fellowship anyway, so please don't think that since you don't usually play competitively that you can't join in the fun. There are junior divisions as well, so get your daughters out there to see why we love this sport so much...who knows, one of them could be the next Val Jenkins or Paige Pierce...we all have to start somewhere!

Great video posted by Freddie! On behalf of the Birdshot-DG ProShop crew I would like to thank everybody who signed up to play & also all of the volunteers who helped to make this happen & run as smoothly as it did...from the caddies to the spotters to the guys running water back & forth to the girlie station peoples! Like Open winner Des Reading said yesterday....Texas disc golf ladies rock & so do the guys that support them. GBO may have had a huge overall field, but only about 20 women...we had 46, so very cool everyone!

Congrats to all the ladies and thanks to all the crew that made it possible.

I am a little dismayed to see on the PDGA unofficial results that certain males broke the man code and apparently were willing to go to desperate lengths in order to sneak into the advanced division in the tournament!

I actually wondered about that as well. Was that to make sure there were enough rated players so that they could rate the round?

The choosen six were propagators. Since the open and advanced women played the afternoon round at Texas Army Trail, the choosen ones insured that the second round at Windwood would have at least 6 playes rated 800 or above and help establish a valid SSA.

During the Pro round at TAT what pin positions had been used? 63 = 987
