Yessir. The Commando Mini will be running on Sunday, April 1st.
Weather is looking good this morning. I'm sure that many of the players in yesterday's Birdshot tournament, might have a little score to settle with TC Jester. This is your opportunity to come out and put a little hurtin' to Jester! ![]() The cost is still just $10 to play in a TRUE 100% payout event. We also offer an optional Ace Pot and Mulligan for $1 each. The current Ace Pot stands at $149! Be at the practice basket area at 9 am to sign up! Hope to see ya out there. Larry

The Commando Mini will be running this morning at 9:00 am!
In checking the weather forecast, we look like we are good until the noon o'clock hour where chance of precipitation climbs to 30% or so. So I'm thinking that if we start up right away, we can get our round in before we the rain arrives. I'll get out there a little bit early and get the registrations taken care of so that we can start right at 9:00. We'll play all of the White tees this morning in an effort to keep the pace of play at its fastest. I hope to see all of you out there just before 9:00! Larry

Folks:
I messed up and forgot to get someone to run the Commando Mini for me tomorrow 5/6/2012. I have sent an e-mail to Andrew Meyer asking him to run it tomorrow for me, but am going to bed before I get an answer. Look for Andrew out there in the morning, and if not, please accept my apologies and I'll see everyone out there next Sunday morning. Larry Kruse

Hope everyone is having a good Memorial Day weekend!!!
The Commando Mini will be running this morning at its usual 9:00 am time. The Ace Pot stands at $193. The cost of entry is $10, and optionally: $1 Ace Pot and $1 Mulligan It features a 100% cash payout immediately following a round of 21-holes. Starting next week, we're going to allow players to purchase up to 5 mulligans per round since the mulligan money is the method that we are using to repay the club for the baskets that were given to HPARD for the expansion to 21 holes. At the current, $1 mulligan per round level, it'll take about 5 years to pay for the basket expansion, and I'm hoping that we might be able to move that along a little faster. It was suggested by some players from Oklahoma and told us that their club raised money for course improvements using that method and it was very popular. Once the baskets are paid for, we'll probably want to start looking at other course improvements as well, such as concrete tee pads and either a foot-bridge or zip-line setup. Hope to see all of you out there this morning at 9:00 ! Larry

Thanks to all of the folks that came out to the Commando this morning!
As it turned out, the new multiple-mulligan gig as a fund-raiser mechanism was very well received and enabled us to raise a phenominal amount of money for the HFDS Jester course improvement fund! $33 bucks!!! Thanks to Richard Fason for pitching the idea to me after his discussions with the folks from Oklahoma! It's going to be great (and popular) way for us to raise money for the club! Thanks everyone! Larry

Yeah Griff - There were a lot of questions and I probably need to think this out a bit more in light of some of the new questions you asked, but here are the rules I've come up with so far:
1. Players have to buy their allotment of mulligans before the round starts. 2. Only 1 mulligan can be used per hole. 3. Player has to use their mulligan throw. 4. Ace counts even if thrown on a mulligan. As I make out the cards to start the round, I write down each player's allotment of mulligans in the "Division" column on the scorecard. The players have to be honest about keeping up with everyone's mulligan usage. It was interesting in that most players opted to purchase all 5 mulligans. We had 2 that only purchased 4 and one that purchased 1 mulligan and one guy that played straight-up. At the end of the round, everyone pretty much universally agreed that they were going to buy all 5 next time. At least a couple of players said that even having 5 mulligans, they didn't save as many strokes as they thought they would! In terms of fund-raising ability, it would've taken about 2 months to raise the same amount of money for the club as we did in a single mini. Larry
