Eric - I might need a little help understanding how that "main ditch" OB stuff works. That ditch comes into play on holes #1 through #5. Will it be strung? Both tees on #1 start on the "other side" of the ditch from the basket as well as R2 #2 and R1 #5. I know that it frequently comes into play on #3 as discs skipping near the basket always tend to fly down into the ditch somewhere...this is a change from years past, right?
Thanks. Larry

If you're doing traditional tourney math you need to add in retail value of the average player pack (disc + lunch) $23 / player. That makes the Pros ~208% and the Ams 316%.

![]() The ditch is strung. The stringing crew was out there today putting down almost a mile worth of string. Teeboxes that are on the wrong side of the ditch have been declared "in-bounds islands" from which you may legally throw. If you fail to cross over the ditch in-bounds you must re-tee with penalty (the exception is #5 which has a DZ for all OB tee shots). |

Thanks for a very well run, tournament gang! The weather was perfect out there - hard to believe it's still January.
I've got to say without hesitation, a HUGE thanks goes out to Eric Jubin for this fun and challenging layout. You asked us this afternoon before the 2nd round, what we thought about it. I like it a lot ERic...good mix of holes, long and short, wide open and tight, and tricky OB every where. Maybe it's just me, but I really enjoy a course that makes me think about placement. I reluctantly agree with the OB string line down the ditch...it made it a LOT harder. Thanks to all of the staff and sponsors. Your contributions are what gives us such a fun time. I can't wait til next year already. Larry

I want to add that it was really nice we had all foursomes. No extra cards, or fivesomes to slow the field down. The rounds went very smoothly. The only place I saw any kind of backup was the 600' hole. And even that wasn't too bad (that I saw).

If you aren't a PDGA member and had to pay the $10 charge to compete in a PDGA sanctioned event like the Sugar Land Showdown, that entitles you to a PDGA Supporting membership.
To collect that benefit head on over to http://www.pdga.com/supporting and fill out the necessary information. You'll receive a PDGA number, mini marker disc, and rulebook... or you can get a $10 discount on a full membership to get those things plus a membership card, PDGA logo disc, and subscription to "Disc Golfer" magazine. |
