Default Kingwood will be playable soon

I talked to Andi today and she told me that the Kingwood course is in the process of getting cleaned up and will be ready soon. I am going out there next weekend, and give my report.

Maybe with some of the trees that came down, it will be a little eaiser to play. I plan on checking out the course next weekend and seeing what is the same and what has changed. I have played this course about 60 times, so I have a pretty good picture in my head of what it used to look like.

From what I saw the last time I was there after the storm, #5 and #6 will have less trees for sure.

I would think after playing 60 times you would have been carried away by spiders by now. I had fun playing that course, but if I threw into the woods I felt like I was being hunted by mini-Predators.

Saying that this course was ever 'playable' is a stretch of the imagination.

I bet it's allot funner in the winter...Tuff course to begin with, add the arachnoids and yellow jackets and it becomes a horror movie with a bad ending

All you have to do is not hit the trees on that course. Easy enough. I am glad its here in houston.

The key word in that sentence is NOT.

i can avoid trees, but at almost every hole at kingwood, the disc is not physically able to travel the path to the basket. the worst possible shot can end up being fine, and the best possible shot can be punished in almost all cases.

its not that this course is hard or easy, its just that a 175ft layup to a 90 degree angle turn and 75ft more in another direction is a poor design for an entire course.

I have come to like the spiders. I didn't at first, but once you get used to them, they really don't bother you. I used to be very afraid of spiders, but after playing there so many times, I am not more afraid of snakes them spiders.

Kingwood is one of those courses that grow on you, the more you play it. It also really helps you develop shots for technical courses like the 18 at Spring Valley. I had no problems playing Spring Valley, because I am so used to having a wide variety of shots in my bag because of Kingwood.
Kingwood can be scary, and a little tough, but once you play it more than 10 times, its a fun challenge. I really have missed playing it and I can't wait to play it again.

I know I am not going to convince everyone that this is a fun course to play, but that's fine with me. I enjoy playing it and so do the locals. Plus it will be nice to only drive 10 miles to play disc golf. Right now I have to drive 25+ miles to play.
