Do you really want to have six of the nine holes cross the walking/jogging/biking trail? A seventh hole throws to a basket position by (what looks like) a blind corner on the trial. Doesn't seem like a very safe layout.

Eric I dont know where you are getting six, only four of the holes cross a path and they don't really play parallel to the path like the current course layout does. This layout is far safer than the current course which has many holes throwing right at joggers.

The pin for 7 will be protected by trees and is placed up to the left of where the path curves, i may even push it up the hill further.

Based on your map, it looks to me like these holes all cross the main trail: 2, 4, 5, and 6. #9 crosses the side trail. #7 looks like it throws right up to the trail. Basket #8 seems like it might have potential for discs to end up in the street.

Of the main tees on the existing layout, clearly #7 is a safety hazard, maybe #4. But on both those holes you have full view of the trail before you throw. #1 and #6 cross the side trail; none cross the main trail. The other holes seem to tee off away from the trail.

It's definitely a tight space into which to try and put a course.

#7 isnt a trail, its the fairway for current #3, so i dont see the problem. #8 is uphill and the road is probably 20' away to the left even if you made it all the way up.

Have you ever played current alternate #3? You could say that in most cases, 1 out of 4 players in a group will go in the road on that one, and that shot is playing into oncoming traffic. I saw it happen almost every time at league.

I agree that its a tight space and its inevitable that you are going to cross some trails.

The danger I see in #7 is that, as it appears on the map, the basket is relatively close to the trail so many RHBH throwers will throw out over the trail to play the fade back towards the basket. It looks like from that tee you may not be able to see a fast moving bicycle coming around that corner until it's too late.

On #8, 20' sounds awfully close.

I have played Alt #3 and don't remember being in/near the street. But you clearly have more experience on that course than I do.

As it appears on the map is wrong then. The tee shot wont allow a huge hyzer because youre standing in a group of trees (where #3 basket is now), and the landing zone is protected by trees between the path and the basket, you just arent remembering.

#8 can be moved out to the right in the middle of the field if the road is an issue. Ill probably be there this weekend to make sure that all of these shots are possible, theres a few that Im not sure about, but the safety thing I know is fine.

Current alt #3 is right on the road! Its a great shot but come on, the current course throws safety issues down the drain, and no one has gotten hurt to my knowledge, i dont think we have to worry about it.

I have personally hit a car...lol. No damage, though the driver was pretty pissed. Now, I was aim left and end up in the creek or woods. I can't tell you how many discs of mine are at the bottom of that pond or in the possession of disc divers.

Speaking of Mozola in general, it is a beautiful course in a great part of the city. Hell, how many disc golf courses have a scenic view of the best city in the World!!! The layout is a bit tired but is still a wonderful course to play.
