You haven't had the pleasure of meeting C. Flesner yet either.

No, just tired of disrespectful young folks who think the world owes them. And that fits most of those kids I was refering to. LOL

People not calling on discs is a problem EVERYWHERE regardless of the "economic background" no matter where you go. The problem at Bear Branch is that the town rarely CARES about the course enough to go out and have the gumption to say NO to the kids swimming in that pond.
Years ago, when Wyatt was going into the ponds, it WAS a HUGE problem. The park rangers confiscated what he had grabbed out of there and everything. Now, I'm pretty sure you have to have an AARP card to even apply for the job of Woodlands Park Ranger. Chase is VERY good about calling or holding onto a disc if he knows the owner. As for the other guys, the NSCG does a pretty good job at confiscating the discs which have names and numbers we know. The guys are getting craftier now and taking off names and numbers, making it more difficult.
Anyone who finds this problem to be unique to The Woodlands kids need only receive the email from Neal last week in which he was..... shall we say "disappointed" in the fact that many of the discs from the Links were recovered but not returned. True, Woodlands kids are spoiled, but if you knew the guys swimming in that pond, you'd know the are most likely using that pond as a bath tub and means of making money. They hardly fit the mold of the typical Woodlands kid.

I'm sure "kid" is the operative word here. I know I've seen "kids" out at Brooks before...one time I had just made the drive from the woods on Hole #2....and came out where these kids had just driven #10 and I actually caught this little guy picking up my disc & then trying to pretend that it was his. I mean...I HAD JUST THROWN IT!!! He actually had the gaul to try to say it was his....I brought out my license & showed him it was me & he gave it back, but he wasn't going to. My point being...the kids don't care (at least this one didn't). If I thought adults were doing this I would be really disappointed.

Kids are not the only ones not calling. I found my disc (thrown in on 18 at Spring valley a while ago) in the bag of a very good golfer. My name and number were still on the disc. Some people are just...not nice.

ERic, got any statistics on that?
Per the 2000 Census:

Median household income in 1999 (dollars)
Woodlands: $85,253
US: $41,994

Per the 2005-2007 American Community Survey 3-Year Estimates:

Median household income (in 2007 inflation-adjusted dollars)
Woodlands: $89,597
US: $50,007

One guy who took discs @ The LINKS event did call several of us later to let us know he had some discs. I've gotten two of mine back from him since then.

Most of the people who regularly retrieve discs from The LINKS (Rob, Mike, Neal, Matt, etc.) are quite forthcoming about calling, e-mailing, or leaving the discs with Neal's makeshift lost & found.

We had some guys come out during States at Bass a few years back that took their bounty and ran. We'll need to be real aware of who's swimming this year to avoid any problems.

I know that the guy out there saturday seemed to be older than me and he was still selling about 30 discs.

With that said the woodlands guys need to throw better stuff in there because I found nothing I would want.
