Another suggestioin I have it that you stop taking money out for Gas and other things based on a % of entry. I do not feel in any way that it is fair to make Pros pay over twice as much for these costs. Why not make it $2 per player? I'm sure $100+ an event will cover the gas you use up.

I wonder if Rusco takes gas out and he travels in an RV?

Not a fair comparison, as we know Rosco makes his money by running the whole event.

I too agree that it should be a flat fee. Before I bother to do the math, could someone tell me about how much that fee has been averaging each event? It's got to be a good tall number, and yes, we know it is legal. That doesn't make any difference. It just seems excessive to charge more to certain folks. We all use the facilities the same amount of time, etc.

and

I know that there is a big difference between 15% of $12, and 15% of $54. ($1.80 vs. $8.10)

Doing as a flat fee also has it's down side. 2 dollars from 52 is only 3.8% of your payout, while 2 dollars from 12 is 17%. I am just pointing out that the impact of 2 dollars is bigger in the lower divisions... so the answer is not just that simple. Where is the compromise?

I bet if it was the same for everybody there would be no payout for Novice or not enough to bother with. Anyway, I'm open to looking at a spreadsheet that would calculate a flat fee for everybody and end up with 85% payout. I'm not an expert at spreadsheet manipulation.

Don't view it as a percentage of the entry fee. Think of it as a standard "greens" fee that is the same for all that play. Take off those divisional glasses and think of us as individuals.

It is above and beyond entry and that also helps make it clear how much of an entry fee goes to payout.

That would be $14 instead of $12. And that is still reasonable for rec. division IMO.

You still havent explained why it is acceptable to you to charge the higher divsions a much higher fee than the rec player who is putting out very little cash to begin with. Why does he deserve to pay a smaller portion of your expenses?

If you don't like it and it seems excessive to you then why don't you take it up with the sanctioning body (PDGA)?

Just because they say it is okay doesn't make it right.

Forget there is any rule, explain what makes higher divisions responsible for a more when everyone uses the course and TD services equally.
