Thanks!
It is not how you compare it is how you MAKE IT HAPPEN! Way to get it done. No playing for free is NOT too much to ask. That was part of your plan from the beginning just like the other stuff. Don't let the small complaints get to you. Some of those people complaining can be your biggest supports too Gimp |

Suggestion, that is too much if the purpose is for you guys to play for free. |

Matt...that's 10% up to (and no more than) $100.00 for C-tier tournaments. That $100 is split sometimes 4 or 5 ways....it depends on how many "staff" people we have helping that day. The TD gets $50 (because they do the majority of the work) and the rest of us split the other $50. I'm not sure where your math is going here. The other 5% goes towards course maintenance.

Billy is correct. The PDGA sets a maximum on what the 10% management fee can be. It varies by the event Tier. See table 1: http://www.pdga.com/files/documents/...ndardsV1-2.pdf

So, how is the $100 spread between (or deducted) from each divisions purse? Is it allocated by percentage or just averaged over all the players equally?

I'll let Chuck respond to that one...he's the magic spreadsheet man....but I'm pretty sure 15% is deducted from everyone & the money above & beyond the $100 goes into course maintenance/general funds. It does NOT go into our personal pockets. We've purchased tools (shovels, post hole digger, rakes, etc.), chain-link for some baskets that are missing chains (and those little guys aren't cheap!), paint (we painted the tee posts at Community Park last year & spray paint for when we need that for the occasional tourney needs), bricks for alternate tees. Once again, our financial report is there for all the world to see on the Birdshot website...we have absolutely nothing to hide.

If you're in the camp that advocates a flat fee, e.g. $2, per entry is it then "fair" that the MPO payout is over 96% and the MA4 payout is not quite 85%? (Using Birdshot March '09 entry fees.) Do you also support a flat rate Federal Income Tax where everyone pays the same amount no matter what they earn? Wait... forget I said that last part. This forum is heated enough without bringing politics into it. ERic |

Tap dance, and still not a clear answer. If the cap is $100, then folks each pay a lesser percentage? And I still don't understand how a pro "cost" the event more than a Wrecked player.
Oh, is this a redistribution of wealth in disguise? LOL

AMs pay in cash and get payout in plastic at (or above) retail value. Organizers don't (or shouldn't) pay retail value for that plastic. So, relatively speaking, Pros "cost" the event more than AMs. |
