Mini Medal Southwest Handicap Mini every Tuesday - Rotating Courses

Tuesday July 8

The Southwest Handicap Mini is back at Imperial Park this week. Come out and see what disc golf is like in TX July heat!

The $8 entry fee includes $1 Ace Pot, one $2 Mulligan (to TX States fund), and $5 goes back to payout. Payout will be top 40% of finishers.

The travelling ace pot stands at $74. This is a fund raiser for next year's Texas States so please come out and show your support.

Tee time is 6:00 PM.

For the SW Handicap Mini realistic handicaps are based on your PDGA rating and your recent performance on SW courses with specific emphasis on the course being played that week. Also, several other effects are factored into the handicap such as the level of course difficulty.

There are some more details on the PDGA discussion board thread:

Default Southwest Handicap Mini - 7/15 Results

Here are the results for the Mo.City Mini yesterday. Thanks to everyone who showed up and supported it. (Looks like the latest implementation of the handicapping system is working reasonably well. )

Now that the travelling Ace Pot has built up to something significant, going forward the Pot will pay out 80% of it's value. We'll do that so that the subsequent week isn't starting over from zero$.

Next week (7/22) we're at the First Colony Aquatic Center. We'll play a full 18 holes using the eight Alt tees shown on this map: http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course...4/2395f42b.jpg

That is a real Rock N Roll rotation going on over there in SW Houston. I wish I lived over there.

Default Southwest Handicap Mini - 7/22 Results

Rick stepped up this week on a course that suited his game and blew everyone away! Thanks to those of you who came out this week and risked the potential hurricane winds... it turned out to be a beautiful evening for disc golf.

Next week (7/29) we're at the Erickson/Payne course.

Default Southwest Handicap Mini - 7/29 Results

Not much of a surprise that Steve dominated on his home course this week. Darrell had a nice showing to take second place.

Next week (8/5) we're at the LINKS at Quail Valley. Who is not afraid of the water??

Default Southwest Handicap Mini - 8/5 POSTPONED

Due to the forecast for 90% chance of thunderstorms, flash flooding, and 20+ MPH winds at tee time... I'm postponing the Southwest Handicap Mini this week. We'll play QV The LINKS next week (8/12).

Default Southwest Handicap Mini - 8/12 @ the LINKS

The Southwest Handicap Mini is ready to try The LINKS at Quail Valley again this week after last week's Hurricane false alarm.
The $8 entry fee includes $1 Ace Pot, one $2 Mulligan (to TX States fund), and $5 goes back to payout. Payout will be top 40% of finishers.

The travelling ace pot payout is currently $87 (80% of the $109 pot). This is a fund raiser for next year's Texas States so please come out, play some disc golf, have some fun, and show your support.

Tee time is 6:00 PM. It's starting to get dark earlier now so the 6:00 PM is important to get finished up with daylight left.

For the SW Handicap Mini realistic handicaps are based on your PDGA rating and your recent performance on SW courses with specific emphasis on the course being played that week. Also, several other effects are factored into the handicap such as the level of course difficulty.

Details on the LINKS:
Park in the lot by the small club house at the DG course by hole #1. GoogleMap with tee #1 marked.
Most people warm up on basket #1 and fairway #2.

Also a reminder that since the course is now owned by Missouri City there are no more greens fees and no need to check in with the Country Club prior to playing. No motorized carts available for rent, but personal pull carts are okay. Collared shirts are optional.

Regards,
ERic
