Scratch that July 18th date! There was nothing on the Birdshot schedule but there's something on the Billy Gilbert schedule! It's my granddaughter's birthday party...gotta go, you know? Also, that's the same weekend as Tom Yocky's first B-tier for Stop Yer Cryin'...and I know some of you people will be going to that one. I'm going to ask the Lake Jackson people if August 1st will be okay....yes, that's the end of World's Week & there are a few Houston players going....but that will give the rest of us something to do while you're in Kansas!

Okay, here's the skinny on Dunbar Park....nice little course but probably should have been a nine hole course rather than 18 holes. Nothing against Jeremy Todd & the people that put it in, but I shot a 51 the second time around & I've never shot under par on any course anywhere ever....that's how easy it is! Great beginner & recreational course...and I must admit that it did make me feel good to shoot under par for the first time ever (playing singles anyway...I've shot under with partners in doubles a few times). I told Jeremy after birdies on the first two holes that if I ended up under par then the course was too easy. I ended up with a 55 the first round but then shot three under the second time around. It is a nice park & would be challening to beginners, but it would be too easy for the really good players. We are going to help them with the Grand Opening though...it will be August 1st & we're keeping it unsanctioned so the Lake Jackson people won't have to pony up a lot of money to play. Andi & Don will be at Worlds so it will be cash payout for all divisions....we will probably limit the novice division to brand new players & first timers...in other words, no baggers please! Hell, I'm still rated novice & shot under par...so you know what I mean! Again...I'm not knocking the course or the guys that designed it....but it is probably the easiest course I've played (other than Klute, where we went afterwards & I shot 7 down...but that doesn't really count - LOL!!!). More info as we get closer to August 1st!

Andi called and said that somebody will bring the mobile pro shop for them for the Dunbar tournament. Cash payout to Pros only. I think the locals will enjoy seeing all the disc golf merchandise.

It will probably be our usual base fees, but without the added $2 PDGA player fee since it won't be sanctioned...i.e., $10 for Novice/Rec, $15 for Intermediate, $20 for Advanced & $30 for open. I don't expect many open players to show up...a lot of them would be at Worlds or would find this course too easy. We want to keep it not sanctioned so the local players won't have to pony up that extra $10 that PDGA wants if you're not a member....and as Chuck posted, DG Consultants will send someone out with the Mobile Pro Shop, so AM payout will be in plastic. From talking to players out there Monday, they would welcome that....all they have is what's at Academy!

Normally it's 30 open, 25 adv, 20 int., 15 rec, and 10 novice.

I am going to try to get that Friday off, and be there on Saturday morning. Sounds like fun, and I love playing new courses.

Is that at the minis? I know we pay like $50 at the sanctioned ones.

Sorry, I knew the lower divisions were wrong and just corrected those. Yes. Eric is correct.
